Because a dog is smarter than its tail.
If the tail is smarter,
the tail would wag the dog.
This is the opening line from the movie Wag the dog that I watched tonight. If a dog's tail is smarter than the dog itself, then it's not the dog wagging its tail but the tail wagging the dog. After watching the film, I finally understand, quite ironic.
A farce of a presidential election is nothing more than a game played by the whole people, but the game participants keep the audience in the dark. It's like a magic show, knowing that everything is just a hoax, but because of its incredible tricks, many people still enjoy it.
It feels a lot like Dan Brown's novel "The Hoax," in which the members of the think-tank concoct a big lie to get their puppet actor, Mr. President, into power in order to get the president to win the election. Often when I watch the film, I am amused by the ironic details in it.
Two of the president's special advisers secretly visit prominent directors to cover up the president's sex scandal with explosive war news. The director, without knowing the details of the visitors, was arrogant and taunted Mr. President, who was being accused on TV. After learning about the confidential status of the two, the director immediately turned down the TV sound and chose to help the president cheat without hesitation.
The director brought in a well-known country music composer, and the writer sang all the vulgar songs at random. The camera turned back, and all the patriotic inspirational songs magically created by the writer were released in front of the public. Impressed audiences.
A perverted rapist locked up in a military prison becomes a heroic soldier left on the battlefield in the director's second act in the blink of an eye. On the way to "escort him back home", because the hero was "not well cared for" and "relapsed" when he saw a woman, unfortunately the victim's father sent him to heaven with two bullets. As a result, after the plane landed, the people worshipped and worshipped, from a heroine like a female prisoner of war Lynch, to a coffin covered with an American flag and carried by eight soldiers.
Oh sorry, I can't help laughing again when I see this shot because I think of a set of pictures from last year's Pulitzer-winning pictures. An American soldier who died on the battlefield in Iraq was placed in a coffin covered with an American flag and airlifted back to his motherland. His wife, who was about to give birth, pressed her bulging belly to the cold lead coffin, and stroked the national flag with her right hand, as if stroking her husband's face. The photos that moved me once, but now after watching this film, there are only doubts and a little lost sneer left.
All black humor. The more ironic, the more true. isn't it?
In a play, the actors are in charge of everything on the stage, and the audience is accompanied by laughter and scolding off the stage. Without either side, the play cannot go on. In order to win the leading role, actors can fight to the death behind the scenes, which is earth-shattering. In the end, no matter which side plays, the audience sees the same play, it's just a question of the actors' acting skills. In fact, the main problem is that the audience is not in control of changing the repertoire, they have been forced to define their tastes, and the actor's main concern is whether the tickets received after the show will make them snicker for a while.
So whether it's a dog wagging its tail or a tail wagging the dog, full TMD is nonsense.
