Call of the Wild

"Some people can clearly hear the voice of their own souls and live by this voice. Such people are either crazy or become legends."

This sentence reminds me of the most in my favorite book "Walden Lake". A sentence that touched me:

"If a person can't keep up with his partner, it may be because he heard another drumbeat of life and followed another rhythm of life."

Soon after becoming a so-called white-collar worker , I am tired of this kind of life, I clearly remember that I said to my colleagues: I will leave this city.

Later, I left Shanghai and went to Yunnan as a student volunteer. There, I found my life. After seeing this sentence, my heart finally settled down. I pursued my inner voice and finally found a drumbeat that suits me to live.

Later, I read "The Call of the Wild" again, which resonated deeply with me.

Watching this movie today, the first sentence immediately seduce my memories.

No matter how civilized and how our suits and shoes are, our human nature, that man is a part of nature, is still hidden in our genes. Some people heard it, some did not; some people who heard it sought it out, and some were covered by other sounds, especially in the noisy and impetuous modern business society, where there is neither opportunity nor condition to listen; some Tracked down and returned, just like Buck; and some were tamed by modern civilization, letting life wear away this instinct.

And those who hear these sounds, and those who feel such sounds, will naturally walk together.

So the colonel’s eldest son Alfred said very confused: You never obey the rules; and I obey the rules of man and God. But people love you more than me.

Because some people are born for this kind of voice, this kind of call. Therefore, we can have so many legendary stories that attract and move us.

How about you? Do you hear your own inner voice? Do you insist on pursuing or give up?

The answer is in your heart

7.9 points, watching this movie, I immediately thought of "Pearl Harbor". All in the name of war films, and many love films. The soundtrack is epic, the story pulls the crotch. I don't know what this movie is about. Affectionate? love? The suffering of war? Human indomitable? I want to talk about everything, but I still can't hold it in 133 minutes. Too much to chew. The movie is called "The Years of Burning Love", probably because I want to recall that time that I can't go back to. But how much of the cultural characteristics of that era did you show? "Gone with the Wind" is a love triangle, but the background is well padded. "Burning Years" focuses too much on polyamorous love! Did people in those days live like this? Since it dares to be called "The Years of Burning Love", what is the historical representation of this kind of plot? Better than Pearl Harbor.

[Exhibition at the China Film Archive] It's good to see it on the big screen for the first time. The shocking soundtrack, the magnificent and vast grasslands, and Brad Pitt, who is at the peak of his appearance, are really exciting. When I saw the father and the boss holding shotguns and standing with Tristin at the end of the film, I was really moved to tears. This is a movie that belongs to a man of sex. However, female characters are tragic. Makes people sigh.

Legends of the Fall quotes

  • Susannah: Were you going to say goodbye? Tristan? How long will you be gone?

Tristan: Not long. A few months.

Susannah: I can make it better for you.

    Tristan: No.

Susannah: If we'd had a child or if I were pregnant, would you still be going?

    Tristan: Yes.

Susannah: Just give me a chance.

    Tristan: Don't do that.

Susannah: Look at me. Please, look at me. I'll wait for you. However long it takes. I'll wait for you forever.

  • Susannah: I still sometimes dream that I'm the mother of your children. I wanted her to die.
