Dreamers are young

When the world's fastest Indian motorcycle

was running around in the non-non-female world a few days ago, I saw a comment on "Ordinary World". It is said that this is not a good work, the smell of craftsmanship is too strong, and I compare it with "Muslim's Funeral". I think it's not right. "Ordinary World" uses simple language to honestly tell the fate of the characters of that era, and it touches you with spirit.

The World's Fastest Indian is also a movie that uses a spirit to impress you.

Burt Manaugh, the protagonist who never left the camera, the movie starts from a dream of this old man. In the dream Burt Manaugh was mad at the venue he longed for. Then I woke up, and the old man pushed out the strangely shaped "Indian" motorcycle and started pounding (to be honest, I thought it was an abandoned motorcycle after a serious traffic accident). Honestly I love this opening, Sacrifice for the God of speed. There is a strong sense of story, which unfortunately is exactly what this movie lacks, and after watching the full movie, I realized I was being fooled.

It's a really badly told film, with Burt Manaugh's journey from New Zealand to Bonneville, where character after character comes on, rubs, and exits, and the tone of the movie is always flat. I think at this moment the director may want to express the feeling that if there is a will, everything will succeed, and there must be a way to the front of the mountain! ~ (laughing), this old man is happy. There were some accidents along the way, he also got a lot of help, and he also knew a bunch of friends. Oh! Maybe what the director wants to show is the warm and friendly side of the American people, hehe. ~(laughs~), anyway, I waited half asleep until our Burt Manor arrived at his destination. Before that, the director didn't explicitly say where the old man was going. I didn't even know that the old man was going to the competition. I thought he was just going to run, hehe, why is this happening.

In this last part, the movie can be a bit exciting, Burt Manaugh's performance when he learned that he didn't sign up and couldn't participate in the competition can be said to be perfect, and when someone laughed at his "Indian" in the back, oh ! The old man was in a hurry. Very cute, this old man. I think I have no knowledge of sports. I never knew there was such a game before. Except for the "Indian" of the protagonist, the cars of the other players came out one by one. Like F1. I thought maybe it was because our protagonist Burt Manaugh broke his own world record nine times, and no one could do better, so this competition made the other players lose their enthusiasm.

In fact, this film is separated between film and documentary, and the performance of this dissimilarity is indeed not good. Finally, I want to say: quit smoking! You can be like Burt Manaugh and still set a world record at 70.

The World's Fastest Indian quotes

  • Leroy the Cowboy: [pointing to antelope trophy head] You got any of those critters over there?

Burt Munro: Oh yes, much bigger though. Well, we breed them down there on big farms, and cut off their antlers and send them over to Hong Kong. And they grind the antlers into dust, and they eat that stuff. Must be some sort of aphrodisiac or something. Puts lead in your pencil.

Rhonda: You could do with some of that eh, Leroy?

    Burt Munro: Your girlfriend?

    Leroy the Cowboy: Wife.

    Burt Munro: Oh. Oh dear...

  • Burt Munro: So what are you doing in Vietnam?

Rusty: Umm, I'm involved in Operation Ranch Hand.

Burt Munro: What's that? Farming or something?

Rusty: Ah no, not exactly. We ah... we just started this program... we are spraying the jungle from the air with herbicides, so the enemy the Vietcong don't have any place to hide. Right... Agent Orange, we call this stuff.
