Don't feel too happy every time you see a great movie! ! !
In fact, this was the first time I watched a Lubitsch movie. I downloaded a bunch of old movies and prepared to enjoy them in Japan. The film overall feels subtle, and compared to today's comedy and satire, it's so amazing that it can be a dozen in a dozen. The male and female protagonists repeatedly fell into new predicaments, and tried every means to get out of them, so that the audience who was working hard was caught tightly and moved forward with the plot. The lovely and exquisite lines and the foreshadowing of rich connotations are really the handwriting of the film masters.
Because I have never studied the art of film analysis, I analyze it from the perspective of a layman, and interpret it from the perspective of a writer. Take a look at each interesting passage, which is full of fun because of repeated insertions. For example, the actor told Shakespeare's "To be or not to be" about three times, and it made people laugh every time. That long line playing persecuted people "You stab us, we won't bleed?", and the contrast between the real dark professor's conversation in the theater and the fake professor meeting a real Nazi officer, the lines are repeated.
The actors' performances are superb, the plot is ups and downs, it's really a good movie! Be creative! Kudos to Lubitsch!
