What the hell was the battle for electricity? ?

Let me rant out loud before this review actually begins:

The role of Tesla, the great hero of alternating current, is too small! He, a helpless immigrant, was first mistreated by Edison, then he was deceived when he opened a company, and he had to dig canals for Edison's company to support his own inventor. It was a waste to have just a little bit of drama. For Nicholas Hoult, an actor who looks close to himself.

After all, Tesla is the one who was ridiculed: "There won't be anything named Tesla anymore, go home with your ideas." He was also the one who couldn't make his ideas profitable and ended up poor. The down-and-out guy who died alone in the apartment.

But now, his name is a household name.

Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is disappointing this time. The rhythm is the biggest problem. The battle of electricity is very long. The good point of the film is that it is getting better, and the direct point is that the film is too slow. In the early stage, the overall preparation was not made, so that people who did not understand this history (especially in English-speaking countries without subtitles) were confused. It seems more interesting to talk about the birth of the electric chair, but for some reason this section is also very broken. What can be called wonderful is the last scene. With the cheerful violin, the Chicago World's Fair begins, and the first execution by electricity on the other side also begins at the same time. The same music has completely different results.

The photography and lens of this film are very interesting, and it is the director's own style. Some of the lines are very good, but sometimes they seem too straightforward, as if you are afraid that you will not understand, and tell you the mental journey of the two parties. The use of colors is also very eye-catching. Red and yellow not only represent the two parties who seize the power supply of American cities, but also the victory and defeat of the two parties, which also represent the change of emotions.

Some points I noticed, one is the moment when the experiment electrocuted the horse, just like the moment when Franklin Pope was electrocuted by accident, there was no direct camera, just a fast soundtrack, the picture flashed, like a flash of lightning. , first darkness, and then the bad news of death. The other is that after Edison's wife died, he turned on the gramophone and listened to it over and over again. His wife had asked him to do things that he could never do.

Actor's acting skills:

This lineup is very luxurious. I went to Shannon to see it. Personally, I feel that Katherine's performance in this one is okay. (After all, the only female character who has a role in the scene), and Shannon's acting is not very discordant. Although the two do not have any couples, the drama between the couple is so-so to watch. Benny's performance is stable, and the role of such a high-IQ talent has been seen all the way, and it has become nothing new until now.

Brother Holland's acting skills in this film are also good, but unfortunately, this male supporting role, which can be called a trick, has little room for him to play.

After reading the most intuitive feeling, I don't know what drives all the development, whether it is current, or money and fame. I only remember that Chicago, lit by electricity, is beautiful, and the happiness on people's faces is very real. .

Maybe some people in this world only care about money, but some people care about changing the world. As the winner of this electricity war, Westinghouse said: "If you want to leave an impact on future generations, make the world a better place than before. Good." A "decent" person like this, someone who is more upright, bright and human, and who can solve real problems, wins before all the decision-making members are named and turned and walked out of the room.

As Edison said: The phonograph is to capture the last words of the loved one, and like the video projector, it is the invention of love. All for the purpose of recording and preserving the traces of the loved ones who once existed.

Forever grateful to Edison for his contribution to the film.

  • George Westinghouse: I can take a beating, but I have no patience for shoddy craftmanship.

  • Franklin Pope: The good thing about Edison is that he could be the richest man in the world, but he doesn't give a damn about money.
