Starting from "Candid Shooting"

At the time of the film festival, I knew that the film would be officially released, so I only stayed in the theater to watch it. I didn’t expect that it had been almost a month since the film was drawn in early July, and then I stepped into the theater.

The history mentioned in the play is unfamiliar to me. Perhaps it was also because he was not paying attention enough. When the candid picture appeared, the male protagonist passed by in front of the camera but did not find anyone taking candid pictures, so he couldn't help thinking of other things.

One is "Sophie's World". The novel is about how the character Sophie in the "story" escapes the attention of the "author", escapes from the book, and takes control of her own destiny. One is Wesley's novel "The Golden Story", which describes Wesley's cousin Gao Rainbow who has the ability to travel through time and space, using a modern video camera to film a massacre that occurred in modern China before the invention of the video camera.

The reason why I think of these two books is that the characters in the books break through the original time and space. If "now" is used as a time and space, then what they do cannot be explained by "now"; now" is closely related. One is to escape, one is to enter; one is to try to go unnoticed, one is to try to record.

While looking at the seemingly ubiquitous candid shots in "Canid Photography", how similar is this situation of being detached from the "now" and monitoring the "now" to the characters in these two books?

Who is the candid shooter? From the perspective of traditional Chinese concept, it is "people are doing what heaven is watching", and the secrets that the hero tries to hide have to be revealed one by one. I think it is doubtful. Just as the male protagonist holds the key of "truth", he can edit the speeches on the program at will, and finally broadcasts the "remarks" influenced by his power. The "truth" brought by this power can be obtained from the screen. We can see one or two above, but in our lives, it’s not that we accept all kinds of “truths” that have been “edited” under the power of large and small.

The winner is king, history is written by the winner, how can the truth be concealed or distorted under the power of the massacre of the Algiers? How can the hatred/discrimination between races be distorted when the economy seems to be peaceful and prosperous?

Perhaps some viewers are keen to find out who is the candid shooter. It seems that many of the remarks are biased towards the conspiracy of the two sons, especially in the last scene of the story.

I also offer my opinion. The candid shooter is actually the "director" - I'm not talking about Michael Haneke, or that Michael Haneke is all right - the logic of the whole play is roughly this: The audience (pipe Ah Zhe) sees the "director" Michael Haneke filming a scene. A play called "Sneak Shot".

Or, I try to divide the film into two layers, "play" and "play within play". Just like Xu Xun in "Ghost Domain", the director of a film called "Sneak Shot" is the first layer; the second layer is the definition in "Ghost Domain", in this film, it is The time and space of the play "Candid Shooting". Michael Haneke took away all the characters on the first layer, making this layer blank, and the audience can directly see the "play within the play" segment, that is, the plot of the movie "Cidden Shot" shot by the "director". The "candid" scenes in the film are actually the clips shot by the first-level "director".

But why did the clips shot by the "director" on the first floor turn into a videotape and enter the second floor? This situation is like "Sophie's World", or "Golden Story", or "Ghostland", there is no need to give an answer; or it can be said that the "director" is using his ability as a power manipulator. , Just like the male protagonist is editing the program, the "director" is also "editing" his "movie", which is true and which is false, it doesn't matter anymore, just like the childhood scene of Ma Jie cutting off the chicken's head with an axe, it is The "fact" after the actor distorts the truth; however, Ma Jie's other two appearances in childhood: the first time he looked up at the camera in amazement shortly after the opening scene, and the second time he vomited blood in the dark, it was the actor's fantasy and dream See? I prefer to believe that it is a clip from a "movie" made by a "director".

Why I don't support the two sons conspiracy theory and also because there are several candid footage going on and I don't think it's something sons can do. The first is that Ma Jie was forcibly taken away by the orphanage in his childhood. The camera is the same as the previous candid shooting, and the conversation between the two sons at the end is also carried out with candid shooting. This candid shot of Ningzhi, from Ma Jie's childhood to the conversation between the protagonists' sons, has always existed. This kind of existence cannot be achieved by the abilities of the two sons.

Of course, to describe the film as a game within a scene is just to forcefully explain who the candid shooter is. In fact, aside from the answer of who the candid shooter is, the state of uncertainty is more in line with the film "Hidden" "Theme of. Hidden is not only the fear of the unknown in your heart, but also the camera monitoring you.
