The milestone is true, the viewing experience is really bad. For the sake of it being the first of its kind, give it to Samsung.
Horror movies slowly turned from Frankenstein and dracula to morbid killings and blood-type crimes. This film is indeed one of the masterpieces of the transition period.
This film was classified as a cult in the early days, just to entertain young American moviegoers, and the midnight stall of the movie theater, the drive-in theater was the main medium of its release at that time. In 1974, before its release, no one thought the box office would be so crazy, and no one foresaw that it would open the door to a genre film.
As a practitioner in the film and television industry, I think the filming quality, editing, and sound effects of the film are very rough, and there is a lack of profiles of the murderers and the protagonists. Several of the protagonists have no character at all, except for being stupid.
In addition to being abnormal and bloodthirsty, the murderer family has no edges and corners, but is simply morbid and crazy.
The rhythm is not relaxed. The story is as simple as a few silly children rushing to the madman's house one after another to give away their heads.
If you're upset today, don't watch it today. Listening to 40 minutes of unchanging screaming is enough for you.
It will be much better if you watch it today with the mentality of going to see a "phenomenal movie" or to understand the history of cinema.
