Children are a special group. During certain period of time, human growth presents a state of chaos, just like the origin of the universe. Are we going to define gender for a dark grey-white chaos? The individual struggles in the afterbirth, which has been invisibly shaped into the human form. Gender classification for reproduction is necessary for a society that drinks blood, so the social norms that are now suppressed under the surging undercurrent are mandating gender classification. As a result, the distance between people is getting further and further.
The story mainly unfolds between a house and the nearby woods and lakes. In the large section of getting along with each other, the director uses this to lay out the emotional connection between the child and the parent, the mother, and the child in the family relationship. At the same time, the interaction between Luo Er and Mick in his heart is paralleled. The screen language is rich, and the lines are concise but there is no lack of content.
Going back to the beginning of the story, the blues and reds that mark men and women appear and interlace on TOMBOY's title. One concept requires children to wear different colored coats, boys wear trousers, shirtless, and behave indulgently; girls grow up in skirts, whether they are wild and absurd or clever, they are all in a unified pattern. Luoer, sister Luoer, and even the child in her mother's womb, are pulling each other's cognition of gender in this seemingly enlightened family. Playing games in a bright room, chatting in dim light... The delicate perspective shows that the idea of the film is not completely focused on the hazy gender cognition, but also from the perspective of human groups, fully showing Luo Er in chaos The joys and sorrows experienced during the period. The mother hugged her dear daughter and roughly put on a blue dress for her. Father let Loer drive, talking without barriers, silence and hugs filling the void in the air. I like my sister the most, saying "My brother is the best, all girls love her, but he only loves me". Even the birth of the baby has a hint of mystery - what gender color it will be given and how it will survive in the group.
I like this way of shooting. One is that the light is bright, the green of the environment blends with water and light, and it is transformed into a face that is between immature and mature. The second is the suffocation caused by the blankness of the language and the long-term focus on the activities of the characters. The third is to accurately grasp the delicate psychology and behavior: the protagonist is alone with himself, and emotions are born in the body and eyes; imitation, plasticine, and collection are all secret thoughts.
The film does not attempt to show the violent psychological fluctuations of the protagonist, and this point of view in the short review may be acceptable. "Maybe gender confusion was just a blip in her life, and looking back at tomboy summer five or ten years later may just be a laugh." In this way, it is quite ridiculous to speculate about anyone's life experience, and it may not be written as "real". It may not be beautiful to accept the true state of mind, but people should be given such rights.
Going back to the story, the beautiful spring is open to all things, and the hug of the two little bears is drunk in the fur.
