light and shadow story

Of course, I have heard the name of this film for a long time. It has been nominated for several Oscars, and has written a biography for a famous singer, but these are not enough to motivate me to watch this two-hour long film.
The reason is that the friend who recommended me to watch it is not a young man of literature and art. He said that a good-looking film will probably not be boring. He also thinks the song is good, which is even more a bonus, watch it!
Really nice. I like the attitude of Ray's mother. American movies must have a few golden lines in the movie. I doubt whether this mother is really as philosophical as in the movie, but I really like her in the movie.
As a hallmark of R&B, Ray's music naturally does not disappoint. I like the editing method of the film even more. The rhythm and light and shadow are very beautiful.

I have read a lot of stories like this. A singer from a poor family, after becoming famous, drugs and women ruined their lives. Fortunately, Ray Charles has a good mother and a good wife! The description of the mother as a child is particularly good!

Ray quotes

  • Aretha RobinsonRay Charles: Scratch a lie, find a thief.

  • Eula: Aretha! Aretha Robinson, what do you think you're doing?

Aretha Robinson: Eula Bench, you promised me to split these washbaskets fair and square!

    Eula: And I did.

Aretha Robinson: Hell, you did! You charged them white folks one thing and paid me another!

Eula: Well, now, who's gonna wash all these?

Aretha Robinson: You can! Now pay me my money!

Eula: Alright, I'm gonna pay you your two little dollars, but don't you be expecting no more work from me!

Aretha Robinson: I got all the work I need from you! Ray, George, come on!

Eula: That's right! And don't y'all ever come back!

Aretha Robinson: [to Ray and George] Y'all got to learn to read and write real good, so you don't have to work for folks like them. Scratch a liar, find a thief. Understand?
