Castle in the Sky

The movie almost perfectly portrays the world of the time when the story happened. Retro trains run on elevated rails, endless black mines, mythological colors are interspersed with a sense of science fiction, and some Europeans are also mixed in it. The taste of the industrial revolution, such as the dark mines of old trains on elevated railroad tracks...

The blue sky and thick white clouds dilute the intense and sharp conflicts to be more intriguing; the characters do not rely solely on lines but on every specific and subtle movement of the characters, which makes the characters more profound.

Pure, kind, simple and brave children who see the world with their eyes can often reflect the most sincere and thorough human nature; this may be one of the reasons why Miyazaki keeps choosing children to be the protagonists.

Very nice, the picture is beautiful. I like Hayao Miyazaki's animation style very much, and the plot is also very good. The grandfather in the pirates, the city in the sky, the place of dreams. It's just that I don't feel much about robots, maybe I've watched too many sci-fi movies.

Castle in the Sky quotes

  • Col. Muska: [fascinated by Sheeta's glowing pendant] It's the Sacred Light! The ancient documents were true! It's not just a legend!

Sheeta: What are you talking about?

Col. Muska: [reaches out to touch Sheeta's crystal; screams as its rays burn his hands]

Sheeta: [backs away with a gasp]

Col. Muska: [forcefully] Tell me the spell! What are the secret words?

  • Col. Muska: [as the robot climbs the stairs] Yes, I understand!

Sheeta: [gasps as Muska pulls her close]

Col. Muska: [showing his true colors] It's your crystal! The force of the Sacred Light has brought the robot back to life! The way to Laputa has been opened!

    Sheeta: LET ME GO!
