There are all kinds of logic in the whole process, but this is the only one that I really can't stand.
Looking at the picture transferred here, the water level is not high at this time. There are a few loose broken bricks on the wall, and various tools, shovels, wrenches and the like. It should be easy to knock off a few pieces. Climb out and you're done. Maybe you can send Dad to the hospital sooner? You have to confront the crocodile. . . What was done in ten minutes just dragged on for an hour?????
