In fact, my main criterion for judging horror (genre) films is that they are especially independent. The genres are nothing more than those few routines. The more predecessors have shot, the more mature the routines. It will be difficult for the latter to escape. So what makes the impression in a large number of homogeneous films is that good -- well, is compared to the same genre.
What do you think this movie is good for? If I had to use a film review discourse system to frame it, it would be that the feng shui took turns, and the earliest nervousness came back. There are no cults, no devils or even alien monsters (although strictly speaking, the plot reveals a little "scientific theory"), it is the dragon that sees the beginning but not the end, it is just scary, and it is not possible to justify it, there is no grand system.
In other words, this film has fully grasped the atmosphere - and this is a success. If you can catch a film, the whole atmosphere of the story is victory. For example, some novels are so rich in details that you have to be convinced, but why do you feel strange? Where? Ambience. If you don't understand what the atmosphere of a movie is, go watch a domestic "horror movie" and come back to see this, and you will get the hang of it right away. Or go look at Gone with the Wind, the Soviet version of War and Peace - they all have flaws, flaws that you can find, but you can't find flaws. Because you don't want to look for it, in fact, as long as it is artificial, it is absolutely flawed and cannot be perfect.
This film is where you don't want to look for flaws, NG and all kinds of unreasonable. That would be boring, right? Horror films have to bring in the ego and exclude all reasonable factors and contingency. Just to impress yourself. Otherwise, why watch it? ! If it's been 10 minutes and still nothing, it's definitely a bad movie. However, the scene of the woman floating against the wall in the bathroom at the beginning caught my eye immediately.
"Fuck, there's no reason, there's no logic. It just looks a little creepy, interesting. Let's see how it plays out..."
that's enough.
