On Vegetarianism and Prejudice

This movie was one of the reasons that led me to go vegan back then. During the period of vegetarianism, I felt all kinds of cruel malice, and also felt warm care and tolerance.

Many people say that vegetarians like to persuade people to be vegetarians, and even satirize meat-eaters at the dinner table, but the vegetarians I know don't do that. Most of them are mild-mannered, but the opposite is true - meat-eaters are always sarcastic for no reason. Vegetarians, I know this very well at the dinner table.

The theory of plant life, the theory of animal painlessness, the theory of the law of the jungle... Back then, when I saw these funny remarks, I would directly argue back, but not now, one is because I have given up vegetarian food for various reasons, and the other is because I am really tired. , After countless debates, vegetarians have understood a truth: if you want to add sin, why not worry?

Probably the refutants think that "plant life theory" is a perfect point of view to refute vegetarians, and they are complacent about it, but they don't know that a few years ago, vegetarians have already made a beautiful counterattack, but what is the result? "Vegetarians like to overwhelm people", "Vegetarians love to refute", "Vegetarians do not understand tolerance". Yes, in the eyes of those people, vegetarians should be slaughtered by carnivores like vegetarians, and they don't even have the qualifications to refute them.

How long will people's prejudice and ridicule against vegetarians continue? Nobody knows. There are very few vegetarians who are still going upstream and insist on refuting, and one day, no one will refute.

Will meat eaters live in peace then? No, there will be new debates, new discriminations. Because people discriminate not against vegetarians, but against the small group of people who are "not gregarious".

How long should I wear tinted glasses?

Or are human eyes just tinted glasses?

Earthlings quotes

  • [first lines]

title card: earth-ling n. - One who inhabits the earth.

Narrator: Since we all inhabit the earth, we are all considered earthlings. There is no sexism, racism, or speciesism in the term 'earthling'. It encompasses each and every one of us: warm- or cold-blooded, mammal, vertebrate or invertebrate, bird, reptile, amphibian, fish and human alike.

  • Narrator: It is the human earthling who tends to dominate the earth, oftentimes treating other fellow earthlings and living beings as mere objects. This is what is meant by 'speciesism'. By analogy with racism and sexism, speciesism is a prejudice or attitude or bias in favor of the interests of the members of one's own species and against those of members of other species.
