About the soundtrack of the show

the composer(s) of Battlestar Galactica tried to unite various styles of world music, and to avoid melodic themes. It has to do with the overarching theme of the show - it's about Earth, rather than one or two powerful countries (eg 24 is entirely about the United States, while Doctor Who has a strong England flavor to it). Every culture is meant to be treated equally here. But still, it's an American television program, and it speaks English. Actually a lot of the spaceship- related dramas of this century have tried this multiculturalism thing. Firefly, for example, is set in a future where Chinese is a universal language (which is the language that I grew up speaking, therefore you may find this review having poor grammar).
