In fact, I really like political films. I really want to push this film, and the reason for deducting one star is that I think the director's satire is still too mild and not thorough enough! Maybe it's for fear that the Russian government will block it?
I watched this movie twice in the cinema, and then I bought a DVD and watched it at home once. I really like it every time I watch it. This film uses a family under the oppression of the mayor to slowly reveal the insider darkness of the Russian government. The Orthodox Church is in power, and the officials are guarded by officials and the officials collude with each other. Finally, the male protagonist's son becomes an orphan and loses his home.
I have seen some people's film reviews saying that they don't understand why the score is so high, and they don't understand how the giant beast on the sea is related to the film. In fact, I thought it was a pity back then because this film should have won an Oscar, but it was lost in the end, which is a pity.
For those who don't understand, I will come here one by one. First of all, the director did not deliberately insinuate the long-standing problems of the Russian government. He was straightforward. In addition, the giant beast by the sea was a way of satirizing the government's rule. All of them do not understand and suggest that all these people go to the last chapter of the Bible, Revelation. This giant beast exists from one of the Bible stories, and it is reasonable and well judged.
