Recommendation index: 5 stars (Top Ten American Dramas of the Year)
Overall feel:
1. The style of painting is unique, there is a sense of "reality show", and there is no sense of violation.
2. It was the first time I experienced "flawless American dubbing". I used to think that the seiyuu of the island country is invincible in the universe, and the American ones are "scumbags". However, the appearance of this drama has subverted the author's point of view, at least for this drama. In other words, the dubbing strength is infinitely close to that of the Japanese anime seiyuu group.
3. The concept of "time travel and flashback to save people" coincides with the main plot of the Japanese anime "Stone Gate". The strange attributes of "high IQ" movies are hard to find in this new drama. So, just take it easy and see.
Episode 1
Description of content:
1. Crash
Brief Comment: Start the follow-up story advancement in the form of flashbacks.
2. Experience before the crash (memory)
Brief Comment: Brings out the main point of the play---Alma's psychological state.
3. Saw the dead Jacob in the crash
Brief Comment: Bring out the selling point of the play---the ability to "control time".
Episode 2
Description of content:
Alma is hospitalized. At this point, the story begins to appear two clues.
One, the realistic route.
Second, the spiritual route. (ie: phantom)
In this episode, there is one thing worth paying attention to, that is: Alma's physical state --- hallucinations, is the category of "superpower"? Or "psychological factors"? We need to explore the answer in the follow-up plot.
Episode 3
Description of content:
1. Alma recovered and returned to normal track (life + work)
Comments: Reality and fantasy are intertwined, and Alma has been confused.
2. Jacob asks his daughter Alma to use her "superpowers" to find out the unsolved "killed mystery"
Commentary: Is the core of the story "truth exploration" or "self-salvation"? From the first three episodes, it's not clear.
Episode 4
Description of content:
1. Alma's relatives expressed concern about his "mental state" and asked him to participate in psychotherapy.
Comments: The story continues to "sell off", sometimes "superpower", and sometimes "psychological illness", which are actually gimmicks, which increase the confusion of the plot and arouse the audience's desire to explore.
2. Alma lost part of her memory after the accident, causing her to not know that she had broken up with her boyfriend.
Comments: The timely appearance of the ethical bridge section further enhances the "real" color of the work, and has a "worldly" flavor.
3. Alma continues to "explore" his potential superpowers.
Comments: This "fantasy" route is becoming more and more "blurred", true and false, and addicting.
Episode 5
Description of content:
1. Alma learned (before the accident) that Sam had broken up with her.
2. The struggle of the brain---the game between reality and fantasy.
Commentary: Until this episode, the storyline was gradually clear, and the thoughts the director was trying to convey became clear at this moment. All in all, it can be boiled down to a few sets of words---"reconciliation", "forgiveness", "letting go" .
Episode 6
Description of content:
Alma and Sam team up to investigate the mystery of Jacob's car accident.
Comments: Get rid of the "fantasy groping", start from a realistic perspective, face this incident seriously, carry out investigation, and the truth begins to surface.
Episode 7
Description of content:
old sister getting married
Comments: This episode seems to be casual and relaxed, but the connotation involved is not at all easy.
a, "derailment" behavior---aside from the judgment of right and wrong, it means that there is still "uncertainty" doubts about the state of "marriage".
b. The burden to bear---the most simple word is "responsibility", to be more specific, from a personal point of view, the "sense of responsibility" to oneself, to one's lover, to one's family, this is not a "whim", but a "lu Yao" Knowing horsepower can see people's hearts over time."
Episode 8
Description of content:
1. Jacob experimented with his daughter Alma
Comments: People can't tell the difference between "obsessed" and "obsessed", and they are often in a state of madness of "the wrong team has been selected, and they are still obsessed".
2. Jacob was not killed, he committed suicide
Brief comment: The cruel reality awakened Jacob's "obsessed" and subverted Alma's "vision".
3. Is Alma suffering from "schizophrenia"?
Commentary: This problem has not been solved in the end. I believe this is the director's intention. It is unreal and unreal, and the ending is open-ended. The audience can make their own judgments. Because of individual differences, different people will have different "foresight". The so-called "thousands of people with thousands of faces" is exactly what it means.
Write at the end.
1. American style, psychological exploration, adult animation, there is a feeling of unfinished business, I wonder if there will be a sequel?
2. It is said that it is "time travel", but in fact, it is still talking about "people". Psychological factors, emotional level, childhood memories, beliefs, rebellion, compromise, tolerance, acceptance, are all "emotional release", Science fiction can only be called "backdoor eggs".
