Kusturica was a genius, he transformed himself into Paul and A. Paul feels a lot like the ex-wife in Midnight in Barcelona.
This is the first work of the library that I have watched. The work is 2 hours and 18 minutes. If I hadn't been too sleepy to watch it at night, I would never stop my eyes. It feels like his personal style should be strong, a bit like Wes Anderson and Tim Burton. But in fact, everything is different. "Arizona Dream" has strong regional characteristics. Whether it's the music "In The Deathcar", etc., or various shots, (rows of pink Cadillacs)
Kusturica's imagination is so rich, the feeling of a dream within a dream is very confusing. I get tired easily watching movies, I didn’t catch me in the first 10 minutes, and it’s probably very difficult after that. But there are constantly new elements appearing in "Yali", it is like a road with various blind boxes. The beginning (maybe) the xx (forgot his name) people, the scene in the dream. Very primitive society, in the deserted Iceland (not Iceland on the map). The man was rescued, and it didn't take long for his child to go out, and he and his wife had a fight. The director really likes to let people get into another person's clothes or skirts in sex scenes. I guess maybe he likes smothering sex hah. Maybe he finds it more exciting?
The film is very extroverted, not the subtle style of us Asians. All emotions are very specific. Fish and red balloons are props throughout the film. I think the red balloon is Aksai himself and the fish is what he has been after. The dialogue in the last snow scene actually made it clear that "the fish is the smartest, although he doesn't speak." The fish is like a god, watching him all the time. The tortoise, obviously, has always represented Grace. The flying machine is also a symbol of Erin.
The conversations are also very interesting, starting from the first time the two boys went to the mother and daughter's house for dinner. Every time Paul said the movie lines, he also set off the scene at that time. (You can see for yourself)
