DISNEY's entertainment films generally have a happy ending, and EIGHT BELOW is no exception, although the director sacrificed two lovely huskies. The film is based on a true story. In order to escort the injured doctor back to China for treatment, the scientific expedition team in the Antarctic had to leave 8 loyal HUSCKYs behind. The reason I like this movie the most is that it has my favorite husky in it, so I can watch it all at once. Huskies are worthy of being working dogs. They are loyal to their owners, love their work, and have great energy. What impresses me the most is that the head dog of this sled team composed of 8 little dogs is actually a female! Maya, the head dog, kept the team tidy, mastered the direction of travel, led the lost people back to the camp, and directed the little hulks to hunt successfully. Reminds me of the wolves in Wolf Totem. How many dogs, descended from wolves, still retain their cooperative hunting instincts? Is the dog that has lived with humans for thousands of years degenerated or evolved?
The film makes people re-examine the relationship between humans and animals. Animals also have the right to life, and humans have no right to deprive it. Man's best friend - dog, is so humane, occupying an irreplaceable position in people's life, work and mind.
