Another embodiment of Guy Ritchie's style

Rarely do I start a blog about a movie. Running Scared is probably the most intriguing movie I've seen this year. The plot of the whole film is compact. Gang violence with black humor. This is exactly the style I like. Just in the previous paragraph, I asked Xiaoxiao to review "Two Smoking Guns" again. Therefore, it is inevitable to compare the two. Compared with "Running Scared", the two are more tense and oppressive, but they are not as good as "Two Smoking Guns" in terms of humor and classic story. Some people say that this is an American version of "The Gun Hunt". Anyway. Whatever it is. Anyway, it's a good movie.

Finally, mention the hero. Paul Walker recently released two films with very different styles, one is "Eight Below" which was a hit in the theaters earlier, and the other is this one. Maybe a preconceived notion. In this film, I always feel that Paul Walker's performance is not decadent enough, and there is still some sunshine boy feeling. But maybe that's acceptable if combined with his identity at the end.

Overall I give this film an 8 out of 10. Maybe "Running Scared" will be more classic if it can be slightly adjusted in the final plot.

If the gun is the Chinese version of the wild dog, this is the American version of the wild dog. The plot is ups and downs, and the structure, editing and special effects are top-notch.

Paul Walker and Vera Farmiga are a good match. The front-loading and rear-loading drama on the washing machine started immediately, and it stopped. Damn, the audience must have been hooked. It stopped abruptly, actually , the director is not to mention it.

Running Scared quotes

  • Joey Gazelle: [after Teresa confesses to killing the pedophiles] Why couldn't you just have taken the kid and left? Why couldn't you just have taken the kid and left?

Teresa Gazelle: I have never seen evil before tonight, Joe. Real fucking evil. Okay? And I know that's not what I see when I look in your eyes.

Joey Gazelle: Thanks a lot, T.

Teresa Gazelle: I'm trying to make a point here.

Joey Gazelle: No, I know the point you're trying to make!

Teresa Gazelle: I did not marry an evil man, okay? I did not marry an evil man. Shady, sleazy, mixed up with the wrong kind of people, but definitely not evil.

Joey Gazelle: I know what you're trying to say, T.

Teresa Gazelle: Do you? I hope so. I have turned my back on a lot of things since we've been married. My eyes are wide open on this one.

  • Joey Gazelle: You know... I used to know this kid. His old man was a real fucking piece of shit. Always drunk. Always smacking him and his mom around. This kid... he takes his licks and he waits this old fucking prick out. And on the morning of his fourteenth birthday, he walks into his old man's room with a baseball bat and he Mark McGwires the fucking living shit out of him. After that, the old man... he can't even hold a spoon without shaking. He don't remember things too good, either. He's neutralized. Which is a good thing.
