Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018)

Due to the success of "Sicario (2015)" (see my blog post "The Mysterious "Sicario "), Matt and Alejandro continue their careers, working for the U.S. government Those actions that can't be on the table are just missing Kate who obeys the rules.

The U.S. government found that Mexican gangs were involved in the business of smuggling terrorists, and decided to strike with a lethal blow. Matt comes up with a sinister plan. Mexico has two major gangs, Mata and Reyes. He first pretended to be the Reyes Group and shot and killed the lawyer of the Mata Group, and then pretended to be the Mata Group to kidnap Reyes' daughter Isabela Moner (Isabela Moner). Then you can sit on the mountain and watch the tiger fight, the two gangs are in conflict, and finally you can take advantage of the fisherman.

Such wishful thinking can easily go wrong. Unfortunately, when Isabel was brought to the United States, it was discovered that the police who rushed to the kidnapping scene were from the Mata Group. So Matt was afraid that this plan would not work. Decided to send Isabel back to the Mata Group's territory to provoke the battle between the two factions again. So they took Isabel at the border with the Mexican police who came to meet them, and returned to Mexico in a mighty way.

(spoiler)

Thinking that these police officers were also bribed black police officers, they turned against the water on the way, and they fought with Matt's team. In a fight, Matt and the others killed all the black police officers. But reinforcements from the Mexican police arrived. And Isabelle escaped. They arranged for Alejandro to find her, and they hurried back to the United States.

After returning to the United States, Matt discovered that everything had reversed. The killing of the Mexican police became big news, and the government, to avoid a scandal, ordered them to kill Isabel to silence him. Although both male protagonists are far from saints, they still refuse to carry out this rude order, and finally they manage to bring her back to her mother in America through many obstacles.

Be cold-blooded.

In the face of murderous drug gangsters, the US anti-drug operation has also adopted extreme measures accordingly. Although Matt and Alejandro are fictional characters, here they know that rules are important, but what they do is to add blood to the knife, and their own lives are more important. If they only act according to the rules and regulations, they will die long ago. . The cruelty and gore shown in the film is well known, and if you are not careful, you will lose your life. Rush between gangsters for turf is also often seen in the news. The police were bought by the gangs so the Mexican government had to use the military to maintain the law. In a word, in a life-and-death struggle, there is no point in being merciful. A virtuous lawyer was robbed and killed on the street, a middle school girl was kidnapped on her way home, and two bodyguards were beaten to death by the police. Alessandro was headshotted by a novice while covering his head. Matt's team stopped a carload of gangsters, and without a word, they swarmed without a single one. Of course, there is no human touch in the story. That is the relationship between Alejandro and Isabel. Although they have a feud between them, they still support each other on the way north.

A year later, Alejandro found the Mexican boy who betrayed him but didn't kill him, as if to pull him in and go it alone.

Compared with the previous part, although the director has changed, the screenwriter is still Taylor Sheridan, whose style of work is the fierce battle in the wilderness (see my blog posts "Blood and Bloody "Hunting the Valley of the Wind" ", " "Going through fire and water" is an obligation " ).
