I haven't read Dickens's original work, but the plot can be roughly imagined, it should be a story close to "The Wandering Story of Sanmao". However, in my concept, with a director with a personality like Roman Polanski, since he is going to remake such a famous novel that has been put on the screen several times, there should be new techniques and interpretations. But from the beginning to the end, he meticulously followed the classic routines in laying and arranging, with elegant style and dignified style, and he could not find any traces of the dark and alternative in the past. I don't know if he wants to transform from a cynical youth into a master of the bright moon, but in this way, I am a curious vulgar, but it is inevitable that I will sigh. However, in the last episode of Oliver's visit, I don't know what happened to the original work, but I always felt that the director's own thoughts were included here. As the leader of the thief gang, Fagin is of course a bad guy morally speaking, but no matter the motive, it cannot be denied that he has the kindness of nurturing the children under him, so there is a kind of relationship between him and Oliver. A father-son relationship that has overcome adversity. This involves the trade-off between human nature and morality. It may be too difficult for children, so the director just took it for a while, and did not deliberately inspire the audience to think. Of course, this is a good film, and it can be regarded as an educational film for children, telling children how to distinguish between good and evil and yearn for the light. For the classics, some spiritual power contained in them will never be out of date.
