Maybe I misunderstood the definition of "comedy",
After watching the whole film, the faint sadness and the imminent death make me unable to laugh at all.
When I walked into the theater, I was expecting the plot or the protagonist to use a more exaggerated drama and humor to interpret the life near death, but the film shows family warmth & alcoholism & promiscuity & plain face
My viewing experience did not feel the philosophy or brilliant acting behind it, only disappointment. Maybe I am not the audience this film is aimed at.
