No matter what, there is still light ahead

Affair. depression. Brainless idiot beauty. Let go of the little witch. Scum man. Treasure boy. call. careless Whisper. Candor that pays the price. obscenity. pure. Suspicion. evidence. frustration. rash. new love. clear. educate. enlightened. ……Fail. ...God (screenwriter? Director? Soderbergh anyway) is kind.
After going around for a long time, it turns out that the director is still a kind-hearted director. Lies don't matter, wounds are thrown aside, two innocent people come together, pure love, simple :)
Cast: Andie McDowell, don't know the rest. The actor who played Andy's sister had seen it in the movie book and recognized the face. The actor playing Andy's second spring looks like Hanson's Taylor, with curly blond hair, an apple face, and big flickering eyes. Well, the humble version of Taylor :P

I personally think that the success of the Palme d'Or is nothing more than discussions and concerns about "modernity". Sex is the source of modern people's ability to capture energy and express their desires. Lies are an essential element in interpersonal relationships. Video tape is the link between the two. Through such a modern medium, the inseparable tension between sex and lies is reiterated. Soderbergh deliberately omits all visual representations of sexuality, but instead uses the conflict between the other two to gradually reveal the connotation of sexuality and the misfortunes it extends, that is, "foreword other things to evoke the chanted words". Events without cause and effect are interspersed with each other, deepening the alienation of the characters and the de-dramatization of the plot, and constructing the current living state of modern people. Deep enough, but not stunning enough.

Sex, Lies, and Videotape quotes

  • [John said he wasn't fucking Cynthia]

Ann: You never used to say the word "fucking."

  • [Accepting John's claim that he's not cheating on her]

Ann: I've just got all this time on my hands, and I just sit around and start inventing these, like, intricate scenarios...

    [giggles]

Ann: And then I don't want to have wasted all my time, so I want to believe in them.
