The coldness and regret of love

With a strong British retro style and endless idyllic scenery, a pair of young people who are attracted to each other are united because of pure love, but due to the conservative atmosphere and lack of sex education in the background of the times, they miss it all their lives. The film uses a cross-narrative approach to simultaneously tell about the wedding night of the hero and heroine, as well as the growing up, encounters and acquaintances. The slightly dull rhythm and script setting make the film's plot unattractive, but it does not detract from the strong, innocent yet painful relationship between the two. The final parting ways were due to tension, misunderstanding, and ignorance of sexuality, but their contradictions stemmed from the class gap. The huge difference in ideology and different growth experiences created their mental asymmetry and inability to integrate. Some regret to miss it is to miss it. The plot of the last fifteen minutes of the film is somewhat like "La La Land". If we meet again, how will I congratulate you? With tears, with silence. Saoirse Ronan once again gave impressive acting skills, full of drama, showing the heroine's entanglement, love, pain, caution and struggle vividly. If you give the film four stars, Ronan will have one.

The life she builds with others may be perfect, but that doesn’t mean it must be like this with you; this perfection may not be what it seems; if it’s true, it’s something other people can’t do. Something; or more cruel, she finally became what you expected, but you didn't have the patience to wait until that moment. This is a story that will make you feel sad when you think of it accidentally, but you don't have to be unwilling.

Penetration without love is a sin

On Chesil Beach quotes

  • Florence Ponting: [during foreplay] Say something. No, say something stupid like you used to.

Edward Mayhew: Miss Ponting, you have a clavicle and a philtrum that all men wish to play on, and a vibrato that all men adore, but you're entirely mine, and I'm so very glad and proud.

Florence Ponting: In that case, you may kiss my vibrato.

  • Florence Ponting: [Reading love, sex and marriage to Ruth] Women are like doorways. Men can enter though them.
