The first time I watched the movie "A Man Named Ove Decided to Die", I felt a little dull, so I turned off the video before watching it any longer. Reading the novel of the same name has a completely different experience from watching a movie. I fell deeply in love with Ovie, this arrogant and stubborn, cute little old man with a knife mouth and a tofu heart. Rewatching the film version, I found that the film adaptation is one of the few excellent remakes I've seen, the film version is slightly altered from the original novel, but it makes people love Ove more.
01
His mother died young, and only his father took care of Ove growing up. Ove inherited his father's taciturn, down-to-earth, hard-working, single-minded personality, loyal to his work, loyal to Sabo, and loyal to Sonia. At the age of 16, Ove's father also died unexpectedly at work, and Ove began to live alone. Inheriting his father's job, repairing the house left by his father, and being forced to leave the workplace by a colleague, he changed from a railroad worker to a cleaning worker. When a neighbor's house caught fire and damaged his own house, Ove lost his father's house... Sonia's appearance made Ove forget all his anger, and he fell deeply in love with this woman.
Sonia pays for the ticket for Ove, who rides the same train every morning, eager to meet Sonia again. Meeting again, Ove returned the ticket to Sonia, and Sonia asked Ove to treat herself to dinner. I really like the way the movie version handles this part, which portrays Ove's honest and rigid straight male image more deeply.
Sonia went to the appointment, Ove's first sentence was to explain the fact that Sonia was 15 minutes late, not to blame, but Ove's honest character couldn't help but tell the truth. Sonia was not angry, just said "Oh, is it." It was simply taken. It can be seen from this that Sonia understands and loves Ove. If in real life, a boy dares to say this to a girl who is late, even if he doesn't get a slap in the face, he may immediately leave with a slap in the face, and Instead, Sonia thought Ove was cute.
At dinner time, Ove performed another blunt and honest manipulative operation: he only ordered a bowl of soup and ate nothing.
Sonia asked Ove, "I hardly see you eating."
Ove replied, "I ate it at home."
As a new human being who is about to enter the 22nd world, I said? ? ?
Sonia asked, "Why do you want to eat at home?"
Ove replied, "That way you can order whatever you want."
In a situation like this, I don't know if the girls are moved, but I feel embarrassed. In my heart, I feel as if I’m trying to slap you for this meal. In fact, I can also pay for the meal myself. You don’t have to do this for me. It makes me feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable.
I don't know if anyone thinks this is a kind of romance? (I am really curious.)
Ove confessed to Sonia about his job, said that he had a good night, and then got up and left.
Then Sonia got up and hugged Ove and kissed, and the two became lovers, husband and wife.
Omg, I want a Sonia too! ! ! Ove, the lucky honest man.
The life of the two is not all smooth sailing. Ove is recognized for helping Sonia's father repair the car. Sonia is pregnant and wants to go to Spain to enjoy the world of two before the child is born. There is a car accident on the way back. They lost their child and Sonia lost the ability to walk. Unfortunately, Sonia did not break down. Sonia was actively preparing for the exam and insisted on looking for a job. Ove felt distressed that Sonia was being treated specially, and she went to the government department for help to no avail. Sitting alone in a chair was annoyed. Sonia stretched out her index finger for Ove to hold:
No one does not love Sonia.
The next day, Ove himself built a wheelchair ramp for Sonia at the school gate, and Sonia officially joined as a beloved teacher. (God, what kind of fairy love is this!)
02
Sonia passed away due to illness, and Ove, who was hit hard, was fired from the company he had worked for for 43 years. For a while, Ove lost the meaning of living, and he began to want to commit suicide.
While he was planning to install a sturdy hook in the center of the living room, Parwana's husband, who couldn't drive, knocked over the letterbox in front of Ove's house, and a furious Ove had to help the family park the car in the right spot. . It turned out they were new neighbors, a pregnant woman, an IT consultant husband, and two lovely daughters.
Neighbors always need Ove's help. After helping the first neighbor, he began to help the second neighbor, the third neighbor... Ove found the value and meaning of life in helping others, and he did not want to commit suicide. . Oh, by the way, he also has a cat, although he never admits it.

When I read the novel, I couldn't help but get wet eyes, and when I watched the movie, I found different tears. I don't know how many people see their own shadow in Ove - eccentric, stubborn, knife-mouthed, but has a warm heart. Looking back on life, the way to get happiness is not to ask, but to give. A smile is contagious, a positive and optimistic attitude is influential, and helping others is also helping yourself.
I began to peacefully accept my current state of life: not much, but never much. Whether you are busy living or dying, you must keep going.
As the author puts it, death is a strange thing. People spend their entire lives pretending it doesn't exist, even though it's one of life's greatest motivations. Some of us have had enough time to recognize death, and they have been able to live harder, more persistently, and more vigorously. Some don't realize how wonderful her antonym is until it really gets closer. Others were so bothered by it that they sat in the waiting room early before announcing their arrival. We are afraid of it, but we are even more afraid of it happening to those around us. The greatest fear of death is that it passes us by and leaves us alone.
I love this book, and this movie.
