Through this film, we can feel the great power of poetry.

The son of an ignorant fisherman became a postman delivering letters to the only family on the island, the famous Italian poet Pablo Neruda in exile. The kind postman faced the admiration and embarrassment of the poet who is supported by the poor people, and the actor's delicate performance made us amazed - he asked the poet to sign, and the postman naturally stretched his sleeves when he saw the poet was peeling the onion. Wipe for the poet. Their friendship grew so deep that it profoundly affected the postman's love life: he began listening to the waves on the beach, experiencing poetry, and confessing to the girl he loved. When the poet left the island, the postman paid attention to every news of the poet and named his future child after the poet. He will open the recordings between them in the dusty poet's former residence, immersed in the good memories of the past. He also recorded various sounds on the island and wanted to send them to poets far away. When Neruda revisits many years later, he receives sad news; the postman died at a political rally after reading a poem to him. Neruda wandered dignifiedly by the sea, tears streaming down his face. . . . . . The strange thing is that the actor Massimo, the famous Italian actor who played the leading role of the postman in the film, died suddenly of a heart attack after completing the film. As if a distant and mysterious confirmation? unknown.

Are we falling into a false fad again when questioning Neruda's communist radicalism seems to be the norm? As a poet, Neruda made it his lifelong duty to write for the suffering people. "How can a poet not answer the weak or strong cry of his conscience with a song? Forty years of creative experience have convinced me that poetry should be rich and rewarding. For passion, I cherish the natural passion that comes from intuition.” Neruda is by no means perfect, but his poetic inclination toward the people and his principles of writing that are faithful to his heart will always be worthy of the respect of good people. As he wrote for the postman Malu: "In the fire/or on the way home/it has no face/but it touches me."

Today, when we think about the vitality of poetry, we might as well look at The Postman, at least I insist : The greatest power of poetry lies in evoking the most common and strong emotions of ordinary people—the verses with their sweat and salt will surely be recited by them, and the poet will be happy because of it.
