Maybe choosing a cool autumn night to watch this movie is not a good choice. This is not an entertaining movie. Through the narration of the story, I am afraid that it is more of the director's discussion of human nature. Robbers, samurai, women, and woodcutter explained the originally simple incident very complicated because of their different starting points. The robber blew in a breeze, saw the woman's feet and the charming face, he was relieved, and then followed, tricked the samurai into the forest and subdued him, in order to obtain greater pleasure, deceived the woman to the samurai And rape it. The story ends here, according to the standpoint of different people, the story is narrated from multiple angles. The robber said that because I raped his woman in front of the samurai, and the woman was in a shameful mind, she asked me to kill the samurai, so the samurai died; the woman said that the robber raped me and went away, and faced with cold eyes. In contrast to her husband, the woman’s psychological line of defense collapsed again. In despair, I don’t know who inserted the dagger into the samurai’s chest. The samurai resurrected with the help of the witch, saying that because my woman was raped, the woman prayed for the robber to kill me. , So I felt that women were hateful, and there was no face to live in the world, so I chose to commit suicide; and the woodcutter, who was supposed to be an outsider, witnessed the whole incident with my own eyes. Because the woman was raped and felt humiliated, she proposed that only one of the samurai and the robber could live. In her tearful accusation, the two men finally raised their weapons and started a duel between life and death. In the end, the robber killed the samurai. . The four people made different statements about the same time. This is why, because of the selfishness of human nature, each of them is expressing language that is completely beneficial to them.

The samurai has greed. If it weren't for greed, even if the robber deceived that there were many valuable swords and mirrors, the samurai would have been unmoved, but he didn't. Because of greed, he was designed to be tied up. As for the raped wife, he consciously had no face to continue living, so he chose to commit suicide. This is also understandable in Japanese traditional culture. This is the so-called "Skills can be killed, not insulted." After the robber was arrested, he fully explained the process of killing the samurai without any repentance. It was almost out of a ostentatious expression, which was the pleasure brought by the conquest. He should have been a woodcutter of outsiders, but he was especially lustful. He had a complete picture of the incident, but his statement when he reported to the official and when he gave testimony completely deviated from the original face of the incident. To escape the condemnation, he chose to lie. Therefore, under the stormy and ruined Rashomon, the monk lamented that this kind of mistrust and lies were more terrifying than disease, hunger, war, etc., so that he almost lost hope for mankind. The monk is the representative of religion. Religion should teach people to be kind. If even religion can't protect humanity, how terrible is this world? The common people say that human nature is inherently evil, which makes the monks and woodcutters unacceptable, but in their retelling of the past, they seem to vaguely confirm this view.

At the end of the story, the abandoned child under Rashomon cried bitterly. The common people snatched the child’s package and showed the evil side completely. The woodman stopped it out of good intentions, but was accused by the common people. After the common people said that the dagger was stolen by the woodman, the woodman was completely stunned. Dare to come forward to stop it again, this is the weakness caused by selfish desire. However, the end of the film is worthy of our joy. In the end, the woodman found out of his conscience that he decided to adopt the abandoned baby. At this moment, the rain stopped and the sun came out. This shows that after the struggle, the world still has a good side, right and wrong. Apart from that, it is possible for human nature to abandon evil and do good. This is a kind of new life, a kind of hope.
