How is the fearful suspense created?

Multi-picture early warning.

There is a bright spot in the Deep Sea Catastrophe. Even if I have forgotten about the rest of it, I am still impressed by it. That is how it creates suspense. Many people feel that it is more than hot, but lacks stamina. What do you say about this sentence? The process was very thrilling and intense, and then suddenly it was gone. In the end, there were very few investigations into the accident. Some people are unhappy. What is the difference between this and a vase? Only a gorgeous appearance without the slightest thought, to be held accountable, and accountability can express humanity and express depth! However, I want to say that this is precisely its advantage. After expressing what it wants to express in a limited space, the so-called greed is too much to chew, if you want to write accountability, it is better to focus on the accountability process like Captain Sally. Greed at both ends will only be light at both ends. This movie doesn't have so many thoughts, just want to rest assured that the whole process of the incident is restored. If you feel how terrible the disaster is after watching it, then its purpose will be achieved.

The most exciting part of this movie is not the terrible scene of disaster. Many disaster films like to spend their time on big scenes and want to conquer the audience visually. In fact, it is indeed the key to success. The Deep Sea Catastrophe is visually not inferior. However, the early stage preparation of many movies is rather boring, and everyone wants to jump directly to the disaster scene. The handling of the Deep Sea Catastrophe in this aspect made my eyes shine. Through the suspense setting and the subtle foreshadowing, the audience is always in a state of high tension. There is a classic example of the description of suspense in the film industry. There is a bomb under the table. The audience knows it, but the character in the movie doesn't know it. The audience will worry about when the bomb will explode. This is suspense.

This example is very appropriate in this movie. The audience knows that the oil well is bound to blow out and explode, but they don't know when, this kind of mood, knowing the result, but not knowing the moment, keeps the strings in the audience's heart tense. Based on the audience's psychology, the film sets up many small plots that shock the audience. There will be more pictures below. I want to review how the suspense of this movie has been established bit by bit.

Let me talk about the general outline first. There are three ways I can think of: 1. Disaster metaphor. 2. The hidden danger plot. 3. Sound effects. Then start.

At the beginning of the film, there was no subtitles, and a dialogue was played in the form of flashback. This dialogue should be a real recording, asking the accident experiencer about the details before and after the accident. This recording allows the audience to quickly enter the scene and sets the tense tone of the film. My heart has been raised since this recording.

What follows is a plot of oil well inspection under the sea. Slight corrosion was detected, but the staff felt it was normal.

What is used here is the hidden danger plot. This discovery seems normal to the characters in the movie, but since the audience knows the bomb under the table, the plot looks like the fuse is burning. There are a lot of these kinds of plots in the back, and each appearance can tighten the audience's heart.

Next is a section of the male protagonist's daily life in the family. Here is the most eye-catching part of the suspense setting in this movie, the metaphor of disaster. There are many places in the movie that hint at the catastrophe that will happen behind the audience. For example, the hero's daughter is explaining his father's work.

Then Coke sprayed.

The audience understood what was going on at this time, and this metaphor of disaster quickly lifted the atmosphere.

There will be at the back.

On the way to Deepwater Horizon, the helicopter hit a bird, and everyone was taken aback. This is actually a hint. Danger is approaching. But at the time I thought it would just crash...

Then the protagonist and his group saw the parked boat. It's strange what this ship does.

This also laid the groundwork for later.

In my opinion, disaster metaphors are very useful in disaster movies. This kind of technique existed in ancient China. Whenever something happens, there must be an aura, such as flying snow in July, shifting of Ziweixing or something. But the application in the movie is not because of superstition, of course, but just pave the way for the audience's psychology, and the audience will feel that, oh, all of this is a matter of course when it breaks out. At the same time, each disaster metaphor can make the audience more fearful.

Just like when riding a roller coaster, the roller coaster must first climb a high and trembling slope to gain enough potential energy. Everyone knows that in the end it will definitely flow down, but the anxiety of not knowing when it will go down is still fascinating.

In my opinion, the five elements of news: when, where, who, what, and why. Each can be used as an entry point for setting suspense. In fact, as far as the story is concerned, there is a sixth element: He Guo. The first half of the movie revolved around when the hard work was done.

A disaster that I have felt a few times is coming. But it just froze. Later, the description of hidden danger plots became more and more frequent, and the audience's hearts rose and fell.

The techniques used in the last moments before the disaster broke out were quite wonderful. On the one hand, it showed that the dark place had collapsed and the disaster was approaching. On the other hand, most of the people on the ship were unaware of it, and even held a celebration party.

The oil well gushes in the dark.

There is a celebration party on board.

This kind of contrast can drive the audience to death. I was out of breath for a while.

Finally, let’s talk about sound effects. The sound effects of this movie have obvious effects on the laying of suspense. In every important shot, shocking sound effects are used. In the few minutes before the disaster broke out, the sound effects were as compact as a drum, giving people the feeling that an arrow must be on the line. By the way, let’s talk about the rhythm. The deep-sea catastrophe is particularly accurate and stable in terms of rhythm. At the beginning, it just throws out suspense bit by bit. The closer the disaster breaks out, the faster the hidden danger plots and metaphors will appear. This is also the audience. The process of rapid heartbeat.

When the film reached more than 50 minutes, the disaster officially broke out. I think the first fifty minutes are the essence of this movie.

After the accident, the scope of loss of control became wider and wider. At this point, I actually don't have the right to make any comments. The reality is always more terrifying than the picture. The tragedy in the second half is chilling just thinking about it. At first I thought it was just an eruption from the oil well, and the mud would not cause too many casualties. I didn't feel too naive until the subsequent serial explosions.

For the same event, the effects of different forms may be very different. Although Deep Sea Catastrophe has other shortcomings, its suspenseful technique and rhythm are exemplary, and I have benefited a lot. I thought I should put together a few more points to talk about it, but those didn't make much sense to me. It’s better to just say what I want to say just like this movie.
