Like BBC version best

At last, I have the qualification to speak of Pride and Prejudice after watching (or reading) the BBC version (1995), book of the abbreviate English version from Oxford, and the movie in 2005 starred by Knightley.

As to the two products on the screen, I prefer the former. It is inevitable to omit some plots because of the limit of movie time. After all, it is difficult to put the content of an outstanding work into several hours. Obviously, the six episodes of BBC have more freedom to describe. Speak of the cast, Jane is more beautiful and elegant. Mr. Bingley is so kind and more handsome. Elizabeth is really a “second-eye beauty” --chubby according to the aesthetic standards of that age and has charming smiles. Mr. Darcy is starred by Collin Firth, who is worth mentioning. It is his performance in the TV that attracts a director (or a producer) to write the movie especially for him, that is, BJ's Diary which is perfectly a modern P&P. And I is always better than II, a truth well known to all the world, similar to the one that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife.

There are a lot of picturesque scenes in the new version movie, which is the main reason for me to watch it. I am impressed by the vivid scenes of the balls as well.

The details are handled elaborately, such as the servants putting the white clothes on the table when Bingleys and Darcy leave Netherfield Park. Mrs. Bennet spilt the jam over a gentleman in a ball. Gooses ducks and chickens show their appropriate appearances in the camera, adding idyllic pastoral peace to the movie. Indeed, it has more Fascinating locations than BBC and less plain.

However, the wonder on its scenes cannot make up with the defect in its cast. I was wondering whether it is due to the first impression.

Jane is a little old for her age. She should be the pretty one in the family, relatively more good-looking that Lizzy.

Mr. Bingley looks a bit foolish. Then all he can do in the film is smile, smile and simple again to conceal his pale face.

Lizzy and Darcy, I don't like the actor and actress. And I dislike the smile of Knightley , at least in this movies.

Mr. Wickham is too handsome, according to the character. His smile is naïve. In other words, he should have shown an evil nature.

Mr. Collins is not disgusting enough.

I cannot stand the moment when Miss. Bingley is flirting with Mr. Darcy. But she is the one acting good to behave the sharp and snobbish of the character. To some extent, the actress is more charming.

It seems that P&P is favorite to majorities of the girls. Because of its happy ending? The good matched couples? Both love and money? ~~~ Every one has his own opinion.

It just catches my eyes recently. The BBC TV I watched is the one dubbed in Chinese. Sure it will be more graceful to watch the original version. Hope one day I can collect it.

Finally, I end the article with the lines in Desperate Housewives:

The vow is simple, really.

Those who take it, promise to stay together, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to honor and to cherish, forsaking all others until death do us part .

Finding someone worthy of such a promise is the hard part.

But if we can, that's when we begin to live happily ever after.

You still have to serve the BBC to make famous national novels! Before, because the original intention was the version of Lawrence Oliver, the 95 version has not been supplemented. After the completion, I was amazed. The American version in 1940 was more of a commercial comedy, with all kinds of fancy costumes out of the background of the times. And this edition is flawless in clothing, country scenery, and British etiquette. Different from the first time I watched the show when I was a child, this round and smiling Elizabeth may be my cherish at this age. She is not the angular and emotionally exposed contestant of Gregory Garson, but has a strong personality. The power of the atmosphere and the inner circle is calm. This is called falling in love! Seven turns and eight twists and turns! Uncle Mian's staring at people makes people blush! It really restores the humor in the novel. Mom, if he is not so rich, do you still think he is handsome? Mr. Bennet is the best example of British dry humor. At this age, there is also a hello, is Mr. Bingley's such easily shaken love really love?
