Ewan's role is a typical Nobody. As the protagonist, he is so tragedy that he doesn't even have a name. The cast dragged to the back, sure enough, there was a "ghostwriter" hanging on it. The protagonist of this unnamed tragedy was destined to be unlucky from the moment he took over the autobiography of the former prime minister. Little writers who have no experience in politics dig out things that shouldn't be digging with the persistence of the truth, and finally get the answers, and their lives are gone.
Polanski's films are as gentle and cold as ever. As a suspense-themed movie, the film begins with the death of the prime minister’s predecessor ghost. There is no surprise conspiracy and "chasing and screaming". The only suspected hunt is just on a deserted island. Drag racing. The most suspenseful color is the always clear sky and the deserted island landscape. Both London and the island where the former prime minister lived temporarily are the same cold, wet, and bitter wind. It looks like the mood of the protagonist: bored, nervous to panic.
In fact, this can be regarded as a story that sprang up at the end. The wife of the prime minister, who had been pretending to be poor before, sometimes cried out that her husband had an affair on his back, and sometimes worried about her husband's political prospects, and incidentally seduced Ewan419. The political star played by Piersnan appeared as a "war criminal". He was too pro-American and extradited terrorists to torture him to confess his confession, which caused him to face numerous protests. During the investigation, the protagonist and the audience have always questioned the prime minister's true identity and actions, but things are not what we thought.
Ewan went through a lot of shock and found the truth. This ghostwriter almost succeeded, it was about to overthrow the big man and expose the big scandal, but the small man had no room to resist in the face of the huge shady. The open ending silently announces the failure of the protagonist, accompanied by the secret manuscripts flying all over the sky.
If this is a movie by Michael Bay or Spielberg, the protagonist must have undergone a heroic baptism, drag racing, hide and kill, blast, play acrobatics, fall in love incidentally-finally overthrow the target character.
If this is a Paul Greengrass movie, the protagonist must be confused and persistent, calmly dealing with various institutions, and changing the status quo on his own.
If this were Quentin Tarantino's movie, the protagonist would face up against the big guys in an incredible way. In the end, some people would turn their backs on their backs. Justice will not always win, but evil will definitely end in a comical way.
If this is a Peter Jackson movie, and the protagonist is dead, his soul will suggest clues to other races, and he will eventually go to heaven. This is a stream of consciousness literary film.
If this is Christopher, Nolan's movie. The protagonist will appear in different narrative structures, and it may be his scarf that distinguishes the past from the present. The whole conspiracy will slowly be unveiled in the non-linear narrative, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. At the end, all doubts are revealed, and the protagonist will die even worse.
…………………………
But this is the work of Roman Polanski. Realistically, with a bit of helpless joking, it calmly shows the tragic experience of a small person's unsuccessful struggle. It doesn’t matter if he is unlucky or assassinated, but it is enough to explain the facts-
in this dark society, the farther away from the truth, the safer, nobody should be a good citizen~
but finding the truth is also a joyful process. . Ewan raised the champagne to the initiator of the conspiracy, with a confident smile on his face that suddenly dawned on him-gleamingly handsome.
