"Things are not beautiful because they sound beautiful, they are beautiful because of their meaning"

Tolkien - the father of modern fantasy literature. Original author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. A hero who saved the British film industry.

The film is a biopic about the life story of Tolkien ( Nicholas Hoult ). A memoir of his life from his participation in the First World War, in the trenches... When Tolkien was a child, his father died long ago, so Tolkien and his younger brother left their homeland with their mother and moved to Birmingham, King Hee. Lives at my grandmother's house in Sri Lanka. Entering St. Philip's Grammar School, in the process, I made 3 classmates and friends. They are handsome, talented, and have different personalities, but they have common hobbies. Every day, they go to a teahouse together to "recite poems and make friends", learn from each other, and grow together. , became the most beautiful scenery in the teahouse, and the four became brothers, abbreviated as "TCBS", and established a deep friendship.

Years flew by in 1909, and the four big boys had become academic gentlemen. Tolkien also begins his love affair with Edith Bratt (Lily Collins). Edith Bratt also loves literature and art, and the two hit it off. Tolkien's dream was Oxford University and he did not pass the Oxford University entrance exam that year, so he was forced to separate from Edith Blatter. In the autumn of 10 years, Tolkien took the Oxbridge entrance exam for the second time and went well Passed, and received a scholarship to Exeter College, reunited with Edith in 13 years and planned to marry. Everything seemed so complete, but the good times didn't last long. The First World War broke out. Tolkien went to the front with the British army and witnessed the cruelty of the war. In the war, he lost two close friends. This is him. It was very touching and laid the groundwork for future masterpieces. In November, Tolkien was sent back to England by boat due to trench fever to be reunited with his family, but the loss of his brother could not be erased. After Tolkien and his beloved wife gave birth to three sons and one daughter, a happy family, Tolkien wrote "The Hobbit" at the end of the film...

The plot is very bland, lacks passion, and the narrative is slow, a little rough, and unrefined. But the little boys in the film became the bright spot, they were personable, all of them looked amazing, and Nicholas Hoult and Collins were irresistible. The film focuses on Tolkien's youthful brotherhood, love, and education. He had a bright future because of a war that changed his view of life. Begins to think about the meaning of survival, which inspired him to write down epic masterpieces. He wouldn't have written great works if he hadn't experienced the loss of war. Tolkien's creativity is amazing, and the "Demon Trilogy" is about adventure, journey, love, friendship, and magic. Tolkien's view of life is quite different: "The shortness of life allows mankind to be free from the constraints of a declining world and to be freed from time that has become a burden".

2019.5.5 @ vue finchley. After the second brush is completed, Holt and Lily have a romantic relationship as expected, but it is nothing compared to the socialist brotherhood of Oxford F4, all the details are quite beautiful and delicate

"Things aren't beautiful because of how they sound. They're beautiful because of what they mean." "To love someone, who, for whatever reason, cannot return your feelings is painful. But if you listen to the poets, perhaps there's a kind if beauty to that love. It burns. Bright. And it's never tainted by reality or by overuse."

Tolkien quotes

  • Christopher Wiseman: Operas can be considered long and laborious but for my music, whatever the length, it is imperative that it has heart. A sensation of intoxication.

  • J.R.R. Tolkien: I can't fail it again. And you know what will happen if I don't get into Oxford. I could become a priest, but I don't think a life of celibacy is what either of us had in mind.
