The film is about two brothers and some people around them, four discs, six hours, the story goes from 1966 to 2002, it should be regarded as the modern history of Italy.
Regarding the word history, I really don't like it very much. I used to come into contact with nothing more than some things that are presented in textbooks: a certain person and a certain event in a certain year, the humor and surprise lacking in details, it is like chewing wax, and it is boring.
The impression of details is based on a film and television appreciation class. After watching "Angel Emily", the teacher assigned a class assignment: each person wrote ten details. I really can't tell whether the feeling like Emily's obsession with inserting her hand into the rice bag is a detail or a purely personal feeling, so I compiled ten so-called details and submitted them. When I think about it after class, it can be considered that the teachers are well-intentioned, and the details enrich the film, but the Chinese are not as romantic and delicate as the French, and we have neglected too many details of life.
In the face of the grand scene of "history", details are often ignored. Thinking about it, maybe these details are too trivial, or maybe they are not worth mentioning compared with a certain result in history. There are no fascinating details in the history books of each dynasty and each generation other than the results.
Perhaps, the result is really more important than the process. It's just that this is a sad conclusion I don't want to draw.
