This is probably the first black and white film I've ever seen.
What I want to talk about the most is actually Morrow's speech. After a long, unspoken scene, the first climax of the film hit me.
That man has eyes that seem to be resolute, fearless, and extremely penetrating. Although this film was shot more than ten years ago, it describes events in the background of a long time ago. His "self-reporting of domestic scandals" in the news and communication industry, I am very fond of him. Think it is still, at least in China, the backside of the media industry.
Information that people do not want to see and dislike is isolated with the help of TV stations, advertisers, and sponsors in the news and communication industry. Such an industry that should spread the truth keeps people away from the real, accustomed to entertainment and entertainment, and away from the real world. Some people may think, how to stay away from the real world, entertainment is a part of life. I think this distancing refers to being isolated due to lack of access to a large part of the real world information that is "disgusted by people".
Isn't this a pain point that still exists today? The value distortion of the news industry does not focus on the disclosure of reality, but on all worthless or even value-oriented misinformation that entertains the public. This is of course not a common phenomenon, and ideal journalists are by no means extinct, but as a generalized phenomenon, isn’t it worth our reflection on the urgent problems that need to be solved in this industry?
Also, what I think really adds to the film is the maybe saxophone(???) music, which made me understand the idea of this kind of music.
