Today's re-watching double compensation... Probably because I watched the documentary before and recalled the plot, or my expectations were too high. I don't think it seems that I am as amazed after watching it for the first time. Wilder is undoubtedly a master of storytelling, which is why I don't think the filming outside of the whirlpool is so good: the director's storytelling skills and Wilderby are still lacking. This time, I marked a lot of details and lines, and I was quite surprised that the lines were actually quite funny. Of course, Wilder was still talking a lot... Phyllis came to return the hat that Walter had taken away under the pretext of Walter's panic. With the sudden availability of soda, and that fantastic ending, Wilder's film is truly meticulous. After re-watching it, I found that the short review I wrote after reading it for the first time was just nonsense. I really didn't read the lines carefully at first, and I suddenly realized the importance of watching Wilder's movies in one day. Intermittent line cues are equally important. The only downside of the movie is probably that Phyllis's transformation is more blunt, just like missy's babyface, falling in love with another person seems to happen too suddenly. But the former is probably the consequence of censorship's forced return to morality, while the latter is what separates her from the femme fatale in other films. By the way, let's whisper bb at the end, I guess I'm the only one who thinks blonde missy is beautiful...?
