movie, Jack likes to buy all kinds of furniture, but the home has no taste of home, just furniture. His home is gone, and what he loves is not what he loves, so he will let Taylor help him destroy this well-decorated home.
Jack wanted to get rid of this trance state. He was in pain, but he didn't know where the pain came from. He had insomnia all night, and at the same time, he didn't know how to end this inexplicable pain.
As a result, he joined various cancer groups, where he felt the real pain of cancer patients, as if his pain was alleviated a lot. However, the appearance of Mara ruined all of this. Mara joined all the groups like him. She was like a mirror, reflecting Jack's falsehood, so Jack began to lose sleep again.
What is pain? Perhaps the physical pain is not the most terrifying, after all, it is still a real existence. The most unbearable thing is the pain of nothingness. Where does it come from? Where to go? You can't answer. So Jack took a way to make the pain more real to solve the pain. He began to fight with himself, with all kinds of other people... It seems that all those who participated in the fight have been saved. They can feel the real pain, so the spiritual emptiness can be tolerated a little.
Taylor's philosophy: Abandon everything to be free. Don't care about losing everything. You are just one of many beings. This is a terrible inflammatory statement. I suddenly seem to understand why fascism can succeed in a rational country like Germany. Reason is actually just a kind of repression in disguise, and venting after repression is devastating.
Taylor finally moved towards extreme anism, even anti-humanity. At the end of the film, building blocks fell one after another. The scene was astonishingly similar to the 9.11 scene. Abandon everything to be free. Even life can be discarded, including many innocent people. Where is freedom? Is it just a way to prove your existence?
The film ended in the fallen building, Jack and Mara's clasped hands, and even interspersed subconscious erotic images. However, everything seems to be back to the original point. Jack said that it was the strangest part of his life. So, is he going to start his previous life again? Is there just another Mara like him? The video didn't give us the answer? Maybe there is no answer in the first place, so there is no need to look for it in vain.
