The sixth part of the "Terminator" series "Terminator: Dark Fate" has been released, so I take this opportunity to combine and sort out the six parts of "Terminator".
"Terminator 1" (1984)
On August 29, 1997, the artificial intelligence defense system "Skynet" awakened, regarded humans as enemies, launched a nuclear war and destroyed 3 billion humans. The survivors referred to this day as "Judgment Day."
When humans began to fight back against Skynet and the robots, John Connor appeared. He seemed to be a prophet who knew everything about Skynet.
In 2029, John Connor led the Resistance to defeat Skynet.
As a result, Skynet sent the Terminator T-800 to 1984 to kill John Connor’s mother Sarah Connor, thereby strangling John Connor in the cradle.
John Connor was not idle, and he sent Kyle Rees to protect Sarah Connor in 1984.
In the end, Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese defeated the T-800, and Kyle Reese died because of his injuries.
It is worth mentioning that Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese have been in love for a long time during this period and have sex.
It turns out that Kyle Rees is John Connor's father.
It was Kyle Reese who told Sarah Connor all the information of Skynet, and Sarah Connor told John Connor, so that John Connor became a prophet and defeated Skynet.
It was Sarah Connor who told John Connor: In the future, a person named Kyle Rees must be teleported to 1984, otherwise there will be no you.
"Terminator 2" (1991)
In "Terminator 1," John Connor in 2029 teleported Kyle Rees to 1984;
Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor gave birth to John Connor.
"Terminator 2" also has a similar setting:
It was precisely because Skynet transmitted the T-800 in 2029 to the assassination of Sarah Connor in 1984 that humans got the T-800 chip and robotic arm.
Miles Dyson got inspiration from it and invented Skynet.
Skynet transmitted the T-800 to kill Sarah Connor in 1984, leaving behind the chip and the robotic arm, infinite loop...
After the failure of the first T-800 to assassinate Sarah Connor, Skynet sent a more advanced Terminator T-1000 to travel to 1995 to kill John Connor when he was a child.
At the same time, John Connor also modified a T-800 and sent him to protect himself as a child in 1995.
In the end, Sarah Connor, John Connor, and T-800 defeated the T-1000, and persuaded Miles Dyson to blow up all his own experimental results.
This also means that Skynet has never been invented, so as to achieve the purpose of really killing Skynet.
Since there is still a chip on T-800's head, in order to prevent it from being obtained by humans, he chose to walk into the furnace and terminate himself.
The scene where he gave John Connor a thumbs up in the melting pot also became one of the most shocking moments in film history.
At the end of the movie, Sarah Connor, John Connor, and T-800 saved the world.
In 1997, the world was peaceful, and the Judgment Day did not come.
I have to say that "Terminator 2" is still very anti-routine.
For example, "Terminator 1" T-800 is the villain.
When you watch "Terminator 2" for the first time, you will mistakenly think that T-800 is still a villain, and T-1000 is here to protect John Connor.
You will find the opposite is true only after you see it.
For example, in "Terminator 1", people don’t believe in Sarah Connor, don’t believe in Skynet, Terminator, Judgment Day...
The same is true for "Terminator 2". People didn't believe her and put her in a mental hospital.
It would be boring to shoot the same story again, and Cameron wouldn't do such a thing.
The result is reversed again:
People said they didn't believe Sarah Connor, but on the other side they sent someone to study the T-800's chip and robotic arm.
It's not that they don't believe Sarah Connor, but they feel that this matter is confidential and cannot be let others know, so they have to force her to lie and force her to admit that all this is her fantasy.
too frightening.
So the truth is that the US government knows that Skynet, Terminator, and Judgment Day are all real, but this is a state secret and cannot be let people know.
In order to prevent Sarah Connor from leaking state secrets, they put her in a mental hospital, gave her medicine every day, and forced her to admit that all this was her fantasy.
You have witnessed one thing, and people don't believe you.
This is a relatively simple shooting method.
You witnessed an event where people clearly believed you, but lied and said they didn't believe you for some unknown reason, and at the same time forced you to admit that all of this was made up by you.
This shooting method is more advanced.
In "Terminator 1, 2" John Connor defeated Skynet, so Skynet wanted to kill John Connor or his mother in advance.
Although John Connor and Skynet are enemies in every "Terminator", they are in fact mutually reinforcing, and no one can do without each other.
Without Skynet, there would be no time machine, and John Connor would not teleport Kyle Reese until 1984;
Without John Connor, Skynet would not be defeated by John Connor, would not transmit T-800 to his mother who killed him in 1984, and humans in 1984 would not get T-800 chips and The robotic arm would not invent Skynet.

So John Connor in "Terminator: Dark Fate" is dead, and there will be no Skynet in the future.
John Connor and Skynet either exist together or disappear together, and neither can exist alone.
PS: Since "Terminator: Dark Fate" has nothing to do with "Terminator 3~5", those who are not interested in "Terminator 3~5" can skip to the bottom part of "Terminator: Dark Fate".
"Terminator 3" (2003)
"Terminator 3" overturned the ending of "Terminator 2", Sarah Connor, John Connor, T-800 did not prevent the advent of Judgment Day, but postponed its arrival, from 1997 to postponed. year 2004.
In 2032, John Conner and his wife Catherine have become leaders of the Human Resistance Army.
So Skynet sent the Terminator TX, which is more advanced than the T-1000, to assassinate John Connor, Catherine, and John Connor's future comrades in 2004.
Catherine also transformed a T-850, letting it travel through 2004 to help herself and John Connor.
In the end, although T-850 killed TX, it did not prevent Skynet's awakening, nor did it prevent Judgment Day from coming.
On July 24, 2004, Judgment Day came.
John Connor and Catherine escaped the nuclear war in a shelter beneath the surface.
"Terminator 2018" (2009)
The only movie in the "Terminator" series that does not involve crossing, retains the setting of "Terminator 3" Judgment Day coming in 2004, and the background of the story takes place in 2018.
The Skynet robot captured Kyle Rees, who was just over a decade old at the time.
Skynet's purpose is not to kill Kyle Rees, but to use Kyle Rees as a bait, and let John Connor come to rescue him, thus throwing himself into the net.
John Conner came to the base camp to rescue Kyle Reese, but he was also dying, and eventually a robot named Marcus donated his heart to him.
"Terminator 5" (2015)
"Terminator 5" is the most complicated plot of the "Terminator" series, and it is this one that messed up the timeline of the "Terminator" series too much.
The film abandoned "Terminator 3" and "Terminator 2018", and Judgment Day still came in 1997.
Kyle Reese was almost killed by a robot when he was young, but John Connor saved him.
Later, John Conner trained Kyle Reese as a member of the Resistance.
In 2029, on the eve of Skynet's defeat, Skynet transmitted the T-800 to kill Sarah Connor in 1984.
John Connor also sent Kyle Rees to protect Sarah Connor in 1984.
All this is exactly the same as "Terminator 1."
However, when T-800 and Kyle Reese came to 1984, everything changed:
As soon as T-800 arrived in 1984, it was subdued by another T-800 "daddy" and Sarah Connor;
Kyle Rees was hunted down by the liquid robot T-1000.
Originally T-1000 should have appeared in 1995, but now it came here 11 years ahead of schedule, waiting for Kyle Reese's arrival.
Fortunately, Sarah Connor and Dad showed up in time and saved Kyle Reese.
Sarah Connor is no longer a waiter in "Terminator 1," but rather experienced and powerful.
Kyle Reese traveled to 1984 to protect her, but in fact it was the other way round. It was Sarah Connor who protected Kyle Reese.
And at this time Sarah Connor knew everything, that Kyle Reese was sent by John Connor, and that John Connor was her son.
It turned out that as early as 1973, a T-1000 crossed over to kill Sarah Connor, who was only 9 years old at the time.
Just when Sarah Connor was helpless, she met the T-800 father who had traveled from the future.
Since then, Sarah Connor and Dad have been waiting for the arrival of T800 and Kyle Reese in 1984.
So Sarah Connor and Dad were able to subdue T-800 in time and save Kyle Reese.
Kyle Reese's journey from 2029 to 1984 produced another memory. Judgment day changed from 1997 to 2017.
So Sarah Connor and Kyle Rees crossed from 1984 to 2017.
However, at this time John Connor had already been transformed into a robot T-3000 by Skynet and became a villain.
In the end, Sarah Connor, Kyle Reese, and Daddy worked together to defeat the darkened John Connor and blow up Skynet's base camp.
Ending Easter Egg: Skynet’s body is actually in the basement of Skynet’s base camp. It was not blown up, but it was alive and well.
The first 30 minutes of "Terminator 5" are still very exciting. The time, place, characters, costumes, lines, and storytelling are all re-enactments of "Terminator 1", but the plot trend is completely different from "Terminator 1."
The same frame of John Connor, Sarah Connor, Kyle Rees, and T-800 made the old fans even more teary. 31 years after the release of "Terminator 1", I finally saw this scene.
It's a pity that the movie messed up the timeline too much, and it was full of loopholes, and it is estimated that the director himself could not explain it.
How bad is it? The movies are so bad that they can't be shot, so "Terminator: Dark Fate" directly abandoned "Terminator 3", "Terminator 2018" and "Terminator 5", directly telling the story after "Terminator 2".
Originally, the film crew wanted to create a new trilogy with "Terminator 5" as the starting point, but later changed to create a new trilogy with "Terminator: Dark Fate" as the starting point.
It seems that "Terminator 5" will not have a sequel, and the pits dug in the movie will not be explained.
"Terminator: Dark Fate" (2019)
"Terminator 3" overthrew the ending of "Terminator 2";
"Terminator 5" abandoned "Terminator 3" and "Terminator 2018";
"Terminator: Dark Fate" has abandoned "Terminator 3", "Terminator 2018" and "Terminator 5" and is a direct sequel to "Terminator 2".
In 1998, a T-800 killed John Connor.
So there are no more John Connor and Skynet.
Although there is no John Connor, Danny appears again;
Without Skynet, the Legion appeared again.
In 2042, the Legion sent Terminator REV-9 to cross until 2020 to kill Dany.
On the other hand, Dany also sent Grace to travel to 2020 to protect her then...
The ending of T-800 is the same as before, "Terminator 2" and "Terminator 3" and the enemy are all gone, and "Terminator 5" is almost gone.
The difference is that it used to be "I will come back", this time it is "I will never come back"
"Terminator: Dark Fate" is a fusion of "Terminator 1-5", Dany is equivalent to John Connor, and Grace is equivalent to Kyle Rees.
This is particularly evident in "Terminator 2018" and "Terminator 5."
Kyle Reese in "Terminator 5" when he was young, met John Connor when he needed help the most;
In "Terminator 2018", John Connor swears to protect Kyle Reese to the death, because Kyle Reese can't die, the future will need to travel to 1984 and Sarah Connor gave birth to herself.
The same is true of "Terminator: Dark Fate". When she was a child, Grace met Dani when she needed help the most. Later, Dani trained her as a resistance soldier and then sent her to protect herself in 2020.
At the end of the movie, Dany and Sarah Connor went to see Grace as a child.
It seems that "Terminator 7" should be about the Terminator's journey to the past to catch Grace when she was a child, corresponding to the "Terminator 2018" Skynet catching Kyle Reese.
"Terminator 2018" Skynet's purpose of catching Kyle Rees is not to kill him, but to lure John Connor into the net;
"Terminator 7" Terminator can also go to catch Grace, to lure Dany into the snare.
Of course, I very much hope that the next film will not be filmed like this and play new tricks.
But considering that the plot of "Terminator: Dark Fate" is nothing new, there may not be any new tricks in the next one.
If the director has any very novel ideas, he will use it in this one, and will not save it for the next one.
It has been 28 years since the release of "Terminator 2", and there is still no terminator more stunning than T-1000.
For 28 years, the only difference between Terminator REV-9 and T-1000 is that they can be divided into 2 robots. There are no impressive skills, all of which are left over from the "Terminator 2" game.
Changing the heroine from "hero's mother" to "hero itself" is the most creative idea the director can think of.
Cameron is really a scheming boy. He only made 2 films, and then stopped filming, waiting for others to film the sequel.
After 3, 4, 5, and 6 were released, the audience found that Cameron’s two films were still the best.
Not every "Terminator" is "Terminator 2," and not every director can become Cameron.
Has been imitated, never surpassed.
I don't know if I can see the orthodox Terminator 3 filmed by Cameron in my lifetime.
