Telling the tragic childhood of evil spirits obviously draws on the perverts in "The Silent Lambs".
In the photo, there is a scene where the child talks with the grown-up self, which breaks through the general linear narrative. Whether it was the inspiration found after watching "Pulp Fiction" is hard to tell.
The part of the male protagonist and some psychic people looking for ghosts constitutes another clue parallel to the main line, deliberately creating a shaky hand-cranked DV effect, which is probably a tribute to "Blair the Witch".
In general, the haunted stories of such huts taken by Wen Ziren, from "Calling the Soul" to "Latent 2", seem to be nothing new. But the storytelling is complete and the special effects are wonderful enough to have an unforgettable trembling time in the cinema.
