From the film I saw the importance of knowledge, small ideas can bring so much energy, from a barren/crumbled village, helpless look, because the protagonist William finds the combination of wind and windmill generator, extracting Pure well water was produced, and the hope found by the villagers and villagers resisted the drought and allowed him to return to school.
The film mainly revolves around the William family and the people in the village. The place is a poor inland country in Malawi, East Africa. From the happy village at the beginning to the collapse of the characters' psychological defense line caused by the drought is huge. Changes are described. Despair caused by the drought, people looted food from each other, left their homes with their bags, young men and women eloped, and even looted food. Even the kind-hearted villagers will give up the bottom line of kindness for their own benefit in the face of disaster. This is human nature. These scenes deeply made me reflect on my own situation. I came from a poor family. I remembered my mother's admonition to me when I was a child, "It doesn't matter to me." This I realize the importance of food and wealth, which is the most important bottom line to maintain a person's kindness.
Then the secondary part of the film is to narrate the successful deeds of the protagonist William. This part of the description is relatively small, and it does not highlight the theme of the film, nor does it highlight his efforts. In the film, when the villagers fell into a trough, the protagonist William's counterattack appeared - saving the village.
The importance of education is emphasized in the dialogue between the protagonist William and his father to decide to invent. From the dispute to agreeing with William twice, William mentioned "because I went to school". Education can remove people's ignorance, increase their knowledge, and change their thinking angle. When the disaster occurred, he did not blindly follow the crowd. William used his own unique thinking and methods to solve problems.
Finally, the most touching part of the film is:
"How much should I lose? Every time I follow you, I lose something."
"When will we stop losing?"
This passage from my mother made my father reflect deeply, and it was also a key turning point in the film. My father has always only used ancient methods to fight droughts, such as praying for blessings, and I said in my heart, "There is no hope for food alone." He despises all the inventions he has never seen/inconspicuous, and it is even more difficult to accept From the hands of his young son, his anger and his roar can be imagined, which is also the terrible thing that ignorance brings. But because of the mother's words, the father finally let go of his inner defenses, was willing to give up his bicycle (probably made a deep reflection), and helped his son William build a windmill, which gave the village hope.
