This is an age of narcissism

I haven't watched Wong Kar Wai for a long time. Because of Leslie Cheung's departure, I found the True Story of Ah Fei and re-watched it. Loosely, just watch the clips. When I discovered details that I didn't pay much attention to before, Maggie Cheung was called "Su Lizhen" at such an early age. Wong Kar-wai's films always have a lingering connection. The stubborn and simple Su Lizhen in The True Story of Ah Fei, who later put on a cheongsam, was still hurt in the Mood for Love, although in the sadness, there was less confusion of youth and more subtle elegance. Ren Xianqi's lines from Carmen in Mong Kok became classics in Chongqing Forest. In the Mood for Love, in the room where Liang Chaowei hid and wrote, the house number is "2046", which has been paused for a long time. Sometimes I wonder if there is a woman like Su Lizhen in Wong Kar Wai's life who has left deep traces. Or, just his habit. Like Su Tong's characters, their names always end in ong, while in Annie's stories, "Lin" is the forever hero.

Think, that kind of habit is a bit narcissistic. Stubbornly, repeatedly describing the things he loves deeply, perhaps, it is his subconscious affirmation and preference.

Because the world is already narcissistic. In this increasingly complex and bizarre society, who will listen carefully to our inner voice? Who really understands Ah Fei's dream of flying?

Rather than being narcissistic. Tell yourself, listen to yourself, the pain in your heart and the shadow of love and hate.
