The ego, both individually and collectively, has both stable and dangerous aspects. It is rare for the film to describe an extreme individual who once existed and the extreme events caused by it in a neutral and peaceful manner. The harm caused by the extreme connivance of the ego among human individuals is truly revealed.
The most common trick of the ego is to create illusions through lies to anesthetize and deceive oneself and others, and to "crowdfund" sympathy and support through golden and jade packaging. And the ego is rooted in fear, which makes it act aggressive, addicted to fear-mongering behavior, extremely uncomfortable in the presence of love...
On the other hand, the ego is the guarantee that people can exist stably in this world.
How to get along with the ego is a compulsory course in every life, what should we feed it? Fear or love? The hero of the movie chose the former, while the heroine chose the latter.
The fear of the ego comes from the lack of love, so when it comes to love, fear will be defeated. But because the illusion created by the ego is so real, it makes the ego think that fear is itself and love is the enemy. The ego is both inseparable from love and afraid of love. It takes a lot of courage to surrender the ego, just like a heroine.
I don't think the evil depicted in this movie is the ultimate, compared to the evil depicted in the two movies "Vice" and "Robin Hood - Origins". However, their roots are the same.
Grateful for such a movie, Namaste!
