This play is generally about a "Bruce Bruce-style" character who was put into the background of the times when several groups of Chinese went to the United States to work hard in the last century, and then the story happened. As an international student in Canada, my impression of watching this drama is that the background of this era is really realistic. From the very beginning, I came here to pan for gold, then I became a Chinese worker to help with the work and help build the railway. After the railway was completed, I was rejected by the local white workers. Finally, the Chinese Exclusion Act was introduced directly (forgot which episode there is a line that says " That bill would never pass", but it actually passed later). These things are not just the Chinese in the United States, but the Chinese in Canada and Australia have experienced almost exactly the same thing. It is really rare to see American dramas focusing on the Chinese at that time. But I personally feel that as a Chinese, or at least overseas Chinese, you should understand that history and what the predecessors experienced when they worked hard, so that the Chinese have a little status. Overall, the show is really good, and the plot is very appropriate to the times. Although some of the fights are a bit nonsense with empty hands and guns, they are generally considered conscience. Worth a look.
