Midlife Crisis Is A Sickness, Movies Are Medicine

The screenwriter is well versed in the "disease" of middle-aged men. The reason why it is called a disease is because the screenwriter not only makes you realize that it is a disease, but also prescribes medicine. Every piece of the movie comes from life, and strung together it's Brad, you and me. It is a high-voltage line that must be touched in the inner world, a true emotion that cannot be opened up to share with others, a gloom that cannot get out of confusion, and a practical lesson that must be taken on the road of life.

People who are in the same situation as Brad will more or less realize what is important and what is not important in their life, but they will still be confused by the worldly vision and the words of others. Thank you film for having a dialogue deep within us, convincing ourselves of what is important and what needs love.

Brad's Status quotes

  • Brad Sloan: [narrating] Her friend, Maya was equally captivating, equally compelling. I suddenly felt a deep grief... for all the women I would never love and all the lives I would never live. I imaging running away with them both and starting again and what that might look like.

  • Troy Sloan: When we were walking around today and you embarrassing me, I kept thinking, like, you know, if I go to this school, everybody here's gonna remember this and I'm never gonna live this down. But... you know, they're not gonna remember. Because, everybody's just thinking about themselves. You know? Nobody cares. Like, the only person that's thinking about you, is me, so... the only person's opinion that you should really care about is mine.

Brad Sloan: Yeah. What's your opinion?

Troy Sloan: Well, I love you.

    Brad Sloan: Thank you.
