Plot: 40. Extremely boring, it is nothing more than a cliché of heroes coming out of the mountains and saving civilians. There is nothing outstanding, but it has to be tricky to make it seem very deep. I wonder if the director arranged for a Korean woman who has no role in the development of the plot to appear in the play for the sake of box office in the Korean market, gave her a lot of scenes, and also set the boss of Seven Swords to be Korean. It really grows the ambition of others and destroys his own prestige.
Screen: 60. Tsui Hark's stunning martial arts scenes and Chinese-aesthetic landscapes in "Swordsman" and "New Dragon Inn" were all gone. The martial arts design in the film is terrible, the action is slow, the wire traces are obvious, and the posture is ugly. It's like a martial arts movie shot in the 1980s. In these martial arts movements, there is no shadow of a martial arts master. All the people seemed to be urchins who had just learned martial arts for a few days.
Performance: 50. Among the actors, there are only a few people such as Dawn and the others. The performance is reasonable. Others are average. Sun Honglei's performance was the worst. He didn't have the temperament that the boss of the evil sect should have. Although he pretended to be ruthless, it still made people feel very fake. More importantly, he doesn't know how to perform martial arts at all, and his movements are very ugly. It is estimated that just looking for a person to go up, can reach his martial arts level.
Music sound effects: 50. The music is largely unimpressive. The Cantonese dubbing is unacceptable. It is unimaginable that everyone in the Northwest desert speaks Cantonese.
Costume props: 70. The costumes are amazing. The people and horses of the beacon fire and the city are dressed like the warriors of the Warring States Period in Japan, and the people of Qijian and Tiandihui are dressed as ordinary people, which is very similar to the "New Dragon Inn". People's clothing has a strong realistic color, and the weapons they use seem to come from outer space, each one is more bizarre than the other. There is a huge contrast between the clothes and weapons, between the clothes of the good and the evil. Gives a strange feeling.
