"Melrose" review

Benny's acting blows up! A bad family of origin can even destroy a child's life! It's harder to be a good parent than an individual! The 5-episode short story slowly tells the story of Melrose's life from the age of 20 to 40.

In the first episode, Juan Fu's portrayal of the addict is vivid and vivid, which makes people feel how destructive his disgusting father is to his life, which is very distressing. The second episode is a reminiscence of childhood life. David is like the leader of a cult organization. He is violent and perverted. He abuses his wife and children by means of punishment for no reason, isolation in the name of love, and madly reducing the self-confidence and security of his wife and children. . The third episode can be said to be Benny's new life, and my favorite first episode: old friend brave and hateful high society, saying goodbye to his former vanity, revealing his heart with best friend, witnessing New York The transformation of the homeless on the street, getting to know the wife who is cute enough to blow up the future... The part where Patrick and his friends talked about childhood abuse in the fireworks impressed me the most, I remember Benny talking about appearing many times in The gecko in front of him said that when he was violated for the first time, he especially wanted to enter the body of the gecko to escape. It's really sad to hear this. Does the poor father know what he has done to his child! Fortunately, this episode is not so gloomy, and the scene where Cuanfu greets the dawn by the pond at the end is so beautiful, I feel Patrick's freshman year is coming. Episode 4 profoundly taught me that adult society has never been this simple. Poor Patrick faced a series of problems such as his mother's betrayal, mid-life crisis, life pressure and so on, and his life fell into a huge crisis again. At the same time, he started drinking again, and the shadow of his father crept into him.

The fifth and final episode, titled "Finally," is it all over at last, or is a new life finally begun? In this episode, Benny's mother is gone, the disgusting old man is gone, and the days of his parents are finally over, but the legacy of his legacy is lingering forever. What I remember most is the confession of Benny and his mother: my father had sexually assaulted me. But the mother's answer turned out to be: "Me too!" No hugging and crying, no soft comfort, only these short words. Such a selfish and ruthless mother, the indifferent expression on her face when she said these two words made me shudder, did she ever love her child? No wonder Benny kept saying at his mother's funeral, "How can she be like this..." Fortunately, the screenwriter had a conscience, and at the end of the story, Curly Fu chose to return to the family.

I like what Benny said to his father at the end of the play: "No one can treat other people like this! No one!" Blind silence will eventually lead to destruction, and emotions need to be vented through reasonable channels.

Benny let me know with his hearty performance: life will never abandon you, as long as you don't abandon yourself!
