Chen Kaige's masterpiece "The Gentleness That Kills You" reveals the incompatibility of trust and jealousy in love

brief introduction:

Alice and her boyfriend Jack live together and live a peaceful and beautiful life. One day she met a handsome and mysterious man named Adam on the street and quickly fell in love. She broke up with Jack and soon married Adam. Adam is a well-known professional mountaineer and has a sister who also loves mountaineering. But Alice knows very little about Adam's past, and she has received some notes warnings about not marrying Adam before and after marriage.

Finally one day Alice found that one of Adam's ex-girlfriends fell into the abyss during the mountain climbing process. It may not be an accident. Another ex-girlfriend of Adam also mysteriously disappeared. She guessed that Adam killed them and went to the police station to report the case, but no Evidence the police did not accept. She ran to Adam's sister again to testify. Adam's sister admitted to the warning notes she had mailed, and took Alice to dig up the body of Adam's missing girlfriend. This time Adam's sister wants to kill Alice here. She is the real murderer, because she had a relationship with Adam when he was fifteen years old. She did not allow Adam to be with other women.

Adam came to rescue Alice, Alice shot Adam's sister to save Adam. After that, Adam broke up with Alice.

The following brief review:

After watching it, I found out that this movie was actually directed by Chen Kaige, and it was many ranks higher than "The Promise". It's just that the film was released abroad in 2002 and was released in China in 2006, and a lot of scenes that were not suitable for domestic broadcast were cut. Frankly speaking, those shots really have nothing to do with the main theme of the film, other than attracting attention and triggering hormones.

The connotation of the film is actually very profound. It is not simple passion, conspiracy, or chasing the murderer. It will give people a lot of thinking space, about the connotation and elements of love, about the boundaries of trust and the nature of doubt.

Why are people skeptical? I think it should be a survival instinct. Our ancestors took a lot to learn to doubt and pass it on as part of their genes. When you see bright mushrooms and wild fruits, you need to judge whether they are poisonous. When you see the catch marks on the ground, you need to judge whether they are prey or natural enemies. When you see beautiful women, you need to judge whether they are qualified to pursue them. Team. After doubt, it will look for clues to make a judgment, and then make the next decision and action because of the judgment. Attack or retreat, eat or throw, go straight or take a detour.

Why do humans need trust? Trust is also a judgment, a judgment for a reason, in order to create some kind of safe relationship. You have eaten tomatoes and know that they are not poisonous. Next time you will eat them, you can eat them with confidence. You have a friend who has helped each other and shared candy together. When he gives you candy next time, you will gladly accept it. When he asks you to climb a mountain and watch a movie, you will also gladly go because you trust it. Similarly, in a partnership, a high degree of trust is a necessary condition for love, and love without trust may be more like passion, no responsibility, no future, just in time to have fun, to bring a mobile phone when going to the bathroom, fear of prying, fear of hurt, Fear of loss, fear of insecurity.

I watched the film and saw the mysterious attraction and passion between Alice and Adam, and then Alice's constant suspicion ripped apart the foundation of trust in the relationship, so in the end, despite the truth, the two The relationship is not going back. It was Adam's crazy sister who killed Adam's two girlfriends because of possessiveness and jealousy, but it was Alice who killed Adam. She did not directly ask Adam for proof, but used her little remaining IQ to solve the case and put the two together. Everyone is in danger. Of course, Adam is not without problems. If she told Alice from the beginning that she had two girlfriends, one of whom lost her footing and the other mysteriously disappeared, then maybe Alice would not be so anxious to marry him, maybe she would still marry him but not. As for myself, I am suspicious.

Many years ago, there was a young couple who felt the roses were withering, the temperature was getting colder, and their relationship was in jeopardy. The boy asked the girl sadly, do you love me or not? The girl replied: I trust you. The boy sneered: What are you avoiding? There are many people you trust, and I am not missing one, right? The girl didn't say anything, packed her bags and left. She couldn't tell him that she loved some people, but only trusted him.

What is trust? It is trust, that is, that you can hand over your life and wealth to you, let it be handled without any regrets, even if you only have a life jacket, I believe that you will not wear it to escape by yourself, it is the kind of very down-to-earth, safe, and reassuring, who treats you as The feeling of more than half of life is to know very clearly that you will never betray the relationship between the two, and that you are the one who can overcome all obstacles at any time, even if people in the whole world do not believe it, you will still choose believe him.

Unfortunately, he doesn't understand. Just like Alice doesn't understand either. People who don't understand make different choices, and then the relationship ends.

Alice, young and beautiful, simple-minded, wearing a short skirt waiting outside the snowy door, any man will be tempted.

Adam, strong, handsome, and affectionate, jumps out at any time like a god of war to protect his girlfriend, and many women will like it.

But so what? Can't find a way back.
