A high-level fandom who adores Quentin Tarantino

A director whose name can be called "Godard" must make a different movie. The "Godard" from the United States once amazed the film industry with "The Cabin in the Woods", but this long-awaited new work failed to inherit the unique style, which inevitably made people disappointed. The director ambitiously miniaturized the various forms of American society in the 1970s in a deserted hotel with a strong sense of stage. The characters with many metaphors allude to the social problems of the time: the trauma of the Vietnam War, the black race, cult massacres, government corruption, etc. All in one. The characters portrayed in the limited scenes are embarrassingly stretched, and the memories and dialogue scenes that are constantly embedded in the background make the design of the script too obvious, and the bloated and lengthy space further limits the director's signature agile rhythm. The process of watching occasionally finds some interesting and lively plots, or some fascinating characters, but in a blink of an eye, I get stuck in the quagmire of clumsy and boring narrative. This weakness is amplified by the "Manson" character sequence in the finale, and the climax is languid and absurd. This is like a work made by a high-level movie fan who admires Quentin Tarantino. The segmented plots from different character viewpoints and the technique of twisting the linear narrative are very skillful, but they cannot fully control the theme expression and fall into the trap of confusion. Disappointing chaotic deadlock.
