The story begins with the description of five French soldiers who participated in World War I. They retired early, but they were sentenced to death by a military court and sent to the trenches on the front line of the war with the Germans. Without food or weapons, they starved to death and froze to death or were hit by artillery shells to "donate for the country". Marty, played by heroine Audrey, is the fiancée of Margie, the youngest of the five soldiers sentenced to death. Mattie had always believed that there was something else in the matter, and she didn't believe that Marge was dead, because she thought that if her fiancé was dead, she would know. If so, Mattie ran newspaper ads, found private investigators, and checked military records, hoping that her fiancé was still alive.
At first I thought it was a story about a husband in a thousand miles, but in fact, through Mattie's investigation, he brought out the stories of the other four soldiers who were also sentenced to death, and then used these stories to reflect the cruelty of war and the reflection of human nature. . Several female characters in the play are also persevering women, such as the lover of a death sentence soldier in the cameo of Judy Cosplay, and the woman who went to the guillotine for revenge of Ai Lang is also impressive. I like the male protagonist in the play very much. He looks like a fool. He carves MMM for the female character and becomes the key to solving the case. That dead fat pig general really deserved to die, and withholding the president's amnesty order regarded human life as a waste, but I didn't expect that the woman who had avenged Airo turned out to be so beautiful!
Overall, this film is pretty good, but you have to be prepared to listen to the French dialogue for two hours, and give the bunch of names to confusion for at least half an hour...
