If you were given the ability to predict the future, would you change the future?

Live in pain or die in peace.

precious life.

It is right or wrong to think that it can make other people live better, and to "redeem" others and deprive them of their lives by wishful thinking. This question runs through the entire movie. When Joe finds John, John, who can predict the future, refuses to open the door for Joe, but he eventually opens them, maybe because of Joe's rogue, maybe because John estimates the friendship between the two. This is the first point of the movie. At this time, John still holds the same idea as the murderer. It is better to have a long pain than a short one. This is confirmed in the part where John euthanizes his own daughter at the end of the film. Later, John realized that the murderer was the same person as him, and he could understand why the murderer did this. He chose to quit. Maybe it was because he was afraid that he would not be considered a murderer, or maybe it was because he had the same views as the murderer. Later, the heroine found John, and John recounted the experience of the heroine. This is actually the second point of the movie. The heroine's life may be miserable, but she survived, and her life is better now than before. John began to waver. Finally on the bus, Joe persuaded him back and continued to investigate. Until the game set by the murderer allowed Joe to get "redemption". Changed the fate of his family. And then at the bar is the third point of the movie, when John has figured it out. Life is not only a result, but also a process. Life is not only a length, but also a width. An angry John slapped the wine glass on the murderer's head, also showing that he was on the side of not changing his fate.

The little boy is not killed, maybe he can finish the ice cream in his hand, make more clay sculptures, and share more happiness with his family. The black aunt is not killed, maybe she can learn the recipes that are being broadcast on TV and take more happy photos. The young woman is not killed. Maybe she can meet the next man who loves her. Maybe she can also know that her partner also cares about her and loves her. When she hears the news of her death, she will still cry. Joe is not killed, maybe he can shed more memories with his family, maybe he can teach his son to drive and let his life shed more tracks.

At the end of the film, the killer asks John to "forcibly" kill himself. It may be because the organs are exhausted and cannot escape from John's palm. Or maybe he also identified John's beliefs.

Cherish the preciousness of life, no matter how many difficulties, don't give up every bit of fun in life.

The first half of the movie probably uses some suspense to arouse the curiosity of the viewers, and in the middle gives everyone the paradox of "long pain is worse than short pain", and then corrects this view bit by bit through the whole movie, after all, it is directly instilled in you You may not be able to accept it.

Theoretically 3 stars, inexplicably giving one more star

I think this movie is still very good. The plot is full and smooth. It has all the elements that should be there, and there is no redundancy at all in what should not be. Although from knowing the murderer's motive, you can guess why John is in seclusion , but it's still humbling to see the results

  • John Clancy: Whatever it is, I happen to get this super-duper deluxe edition of what people now call 'intuition' and 'gut-reaction'.

Joe Merriwether: [sniffing the cigar] Cuban.

Agent Katherine Cowles: What's the word, Sawyer?

Agent Sawyer: Looks like a match.

Agent Katherine Cowles: [holds up three fingers to Merriwether]

Agent Sawyer: [on the phone] Yeah, it's Joe. We've got a series. Same M O, same signature, no DNA. Not one goddamn shred.
