The fourth movie I watched at the Sydney Film Festival. The English title is 3-Iron - a metaphor for the heroine's vase life with this golf club that is often hidden and least used. She was like an ornament, trapped in a large and tasteful home by her husband. The word "three" is also associated with the triangular relationship between the male protagonist, the female protagonist and her husband.

In this more than an hour-long film, there is not even a single dialogue between the male and female protagonists. The male protagonist was silent the whole time, and the female protagonist only said two words to her husband (and the ghostly male protagonist behind him) at the end: "It's time to eat" and "I love you". On the contrary, almost every supporting actor, including the heroine's husband, the police, the family of the violently killed old man, the boxer, etc. all ripped their throats and shouted.

For most of the film, it's quiet, really quiet...every note of the soundtrack is clearly heard. This kind of film with very little dialogue can easily lead to unclear explanations, or to be boring. Thanks to the skill of director Kim Ki-duk, the soundtrack and the use of the camera lens, every movement in the eyes of the protagonists has a dramatic effect, which tightly binds the emotions of the audience.

The movie has a surreal feel. The male protagonist is in someone else's home as if he were in a no-man's land. Breaking in just to see other people's lives, taking pictures in front of the owner's photo every time, as if wanting to join them as a family. After being imprisoned in the later period, it seems that he has become an invisible ghost, and only the heroine can see him. The heroine speaks to her husband and hugs her husband. In fact, the object in her heart is the hero.

Both protagonists are lonely people looking for some recognition. If you can't find it in the real world, you have to realize it in the imaginary world, and you have to find it in a semi-unreal world. The two protagonists found each other and finally got it.
