All I can say is, very sad. It’s a woman’s lament, and a feminist lament. If you love a man, you will give up all your due rights; if you don't love, but stay together for the rest of your life and give up your rights, that's not a pity.
The deepest sadness of the movie is that feminism itself is sad.
In the early stage of the male protagonist, a successful career woman, she successfully raised a big child by herself. However, what she will be remembered all her life is still the early stage of a celebrity. Even if she is completely feminist and independent, has a fulfilling and happy life, has a successful career, and does not consider divorce as a failure, to society, she is just the ex-wife of a male celebrity; even an abandoned wife.
The feminism they have obtained is helpless and eternal pity. No matter how happy they are, they still cannot change the perception of the male-dominated world.
And the heroine of this play goes further on the road of compromise. So everything about the ex-wife is the biggest blow to her. She loves him, but the price of love is too heavy. He loves her too, but love can't stop hurt - don't think that only having an affair is hurt. In fact she devalued herself to yield to him and to her love. The outbreak is inevitable, nothing more than an opportunity. Getting old is precisely the best reason - I have done my best, I have devoted my youth, and no one can criticize me from the moral high ground.
Feminism, it is tragic if it is not obtained; but what if it is obtained?
After all, the world is of two genders. If one party cannot accept the equality and self of the other party from beginning to end, feminism is a nonsense.
